Hey people, keep up the good work.
I'm basiclly looking for everyone's opinion here on oponents and their armies and everything about them. I want to hear what you hate and why and what you love and why. Just post anything, I want many opinions on many armies and their style's and tactics.
Power gamers? This game is designed for power gamers, it's a tactical strategy game...it's almost a "power gamer" game by definition. I never understand why people complain when people "power game" in 40k, that's what your supposed to do. Beat the other person by using the best methods and tactics.Originally Posted by impending slaughter
I think you've misunderstood. I'm all for using the best methods and tactics. Abusing the game mechanics, however, is another matter. For example, Wraithlords are probably underpriced. Using one of them, fine. But 3? Or maybe I'm just more of a fluffy guy...
Yes but you can't adapt? Anyways, if somebody is fielding 3 of one heavy support type then they are going to be lacking something...simply try to exploit that. Try to abuse the mechanics as they are...if you can't then don't play with them, or choose to play lower points. Lower points makes it harder to do those types of things.
It's hard being a fluffy gamer in a power gamer's world. I always play using the same army for instance (my Chaos warband). Alot of people I play, knowing this, create armies that give them the advantage before tactics even come into it. On even terms I have a pretty high win ratio - it's against power gamers I suffer most. Maybe I'm just being bitter now. Oh well
Hate: SMurfs. A lot. They are my only opponents, which makes it seems as though the only army in 40k is SMurfs. I play at least 5 SMurfs regularly, and my other opponents are 1 tau, 1 nid and maybe once a year an ork player will show up. Seriously, people need to cut down on the SMurfs. It's like a drug addiction.
Love: "Fun" armies. Armies that you can be tactical with, or just throw strategy to the wind and throw them at your enemy. I played against orks once and it was loads of fun. The game started out with me being serious, but as the game progressed we just stopped caring about winning. "Dude, my grot squad lasted 4 turns! WOW!" Nids can also be played like this. I want to field the maximum number of spineguants, 192 I think, and just push them at my opponent. They'll get chewed by bolters, but who cares? They're 5 points a pop, and I'm tired of trying to outhink those damned armor saves.
My gaming group's new motto: That army you're using is overpowered because it hurts my guys, codex is broken and needs a rewrite.
Power gamers, need heard the exprecion before, but yes I agree they suck. Unbalanced armies GGRR I hate them, noticebly Khrone players do a similiar thing those dastards.
People feel free to say that you hate for example the Necrons or a mass deepstrike tactic from Terminators.
Post what armies absoutally cain your or vise versa.
See I love versing my friend C'tan, I cain it. Rending and Implant Attack, lol never fails. Also S 5 Genestealers can wound a C'tan with a 6 to wound.

Hate: people who play solely to win.
Love: my orks. they are the most fun to play and i dont care if i win or lose, as long as my ladz get in a good fight. so basically i like stress free games. and thats something orks are good at, they really lighten a mood.
I do not enjoy people who play for the sole purpose of winning. I enjoy winning, but, I LOVE a good game, (the first time I played my Slayer army against my buddies beastmen, I got SMOKED, but it was a great game, "what do you mean my 2 chariots bounced off that one guy?"). For this reason I love playing against Orks, how can you not have fun against them?
