I know there are a couple of online army builder tools but can anyone give me a link to a good, free download for one? I'm planning a couple of new armies and want to throw ideas around without the paper work.
Cough.. (bump) Cough...
Wolf Lair makes Army Builder. The demo version is free and lets you make 500 point lists. The data files are downloaded seperately and are created by users, but available from thier site and are very complete.
It's worth the cash to buy. Once you see how fast and easy it is you'll never go back to P&P and you'll definately get your money's worth.

ill vouch for army builder, its a great program
Enemies of the Imperium by Games Workshop has a terrible interface, but lets you print slick army lists. Unfortunately, it has stupid errors in his data files (my version says plasma guns are plasma pistols).
This problem should be fixed by downloading the apporpriate updates and patches. With the latest updates, mine works fine with very little/no mistakes.Originally Posted by onodera
Well, even with 2.6.05 PG's have range and stats of a plasma pistol.
It looks I've been using the old army list. ^^' You're right, the stats are correct now. Now I can finally print a beatiful army list.
If your looking for entirely free (both as in speach, and as in beer) I would have to say that jArmyTool is a good option. It dosn't come with any army files, nor are there any for download. But the tools you need to create the list are there, and I belive it works with several diffrent gaming systems, Warhammer Fantasy/40,000 and more.
