Order of the Shadoy Flame List Contest!

Alright! We have here a themed List Competition from the members of the Order of the Shadowy Flame Clan!

Pick your favorite based not of wether or not it could win, but rather how they carry out the theme stated.

Here are the Entries! (Theme is underlined)

    Entry 1

Subject: RE: Black Dragon Force Disposition
    From: Adept Friedrich Tobias XIIV
    To: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX [authorisation required]
    Intercepted via Astrotelepathic Duct 146.28.95.2

Honoured Lord, this is as much information as I was able to gather on the Black Dragon Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, and is unfortunately rather incomplete. This force report was filed almost immediately after the Third War for Armageddon, by an Imperial logistician in the Corus sector. Notes have been compiled, by myself and several of my most trusted sources, over the past century, since you first expressed interest. We hope it is of some use to you.
    Your obedient servant, Friedrich.

    FW:
Strike Force Taal, of the Black Dragons Fifth Company, attached to the Strike Cruiser Purity and Fire, engaged in the Corus Sector, Segmentum Obscurus, circa M.40. 9999.
    Thought for the Day:
The Emperor will not judge you by your medals and diplomas but by your scars.

    1 Scout with Missile Launcher.

    Scout Squad Sorrel – 88pts
    5 Scouts with Bolters.

    Scout Squad Kaelis – 173pts
8 Scouts with Bolt Pistols, Close Combat Weapons, Frag Grenades.

1 Space Marine with Counter Attack and True Grit, Meltagun.
1 Space Marine with Counter Attack and True Grit, Heavy Bolter.
1 Space Marine with Counter Attack and True Grit, Terminator Honours, Bolt Pistol, Power Fist.
    Drop Pod, Storm Bolter.

Dragon Claw (Assault) Squad Isacharr – 290pts
7 Space Marines with Furious Charge, Bolt Pistols, Close Combat Weapons, Jump Packs, Frag Grenades.
2 Space Marines with Furious Charge, Bolt Pistols, Close Combat Weapons, Jump Packs, Frag Grenades.
1 Space Marine with Furious Charge, Terminator Honours, Bolt Pistol, Power Fist, Jump Pack, Frag Grenades.

    Total – 1249pts

    Compiler’s Notes:
-Strike Force Taal is fairly typical of Black Dragon force disposition in the years following the high casualties accrued during the Third War for Armageddon. It relies on the highly skilled and individually capable members of its fully-fledged Battle Brothers, and the tactical flexibility and (to some extent) numbers of Scouts.

-Brother-Captain Taal first rose to prominence in the Chapter during the battles on the planet TX943, where he was instrumental in recovering a data-core containing information regarding the Chapters hazy origins, which resulted in his promotion to 5th company Captain. Although he has been forced to ally himself with a group of Eldar (believed to originate from the Ulthwe craftworld) at several points during his career, he has been absolved of the crime of Xenophilia. His skill with the Lightning Claws he generally wealds in battle is rumoured to be unsurpassed in recent Imperial History, drawing (occasionally grudging) compliments from many of the Adeptus Astartes forces he has served with.

-Veteran Sergeant Kaelis is one of the Chapters most admired assets. Formally a much honoured member of the 10th company, he joined the 5th company after the Chapter underwent reorganisation (1st and 10th companies absorbed by the battle-companies, allowing the large numbers of new recruits to learn as fast as possible).

-Veteran Sergeant Cael is a hugely skilful warrior, who leads his squad with panache and honour. Much respected in the Chapter, he is regarded as a mentor by many of the marines who have served with him.

-Veteran Sergeant Isacharr is a warrior without equal. Even amongst those cursed with the taint of the Chapter, in combat he is a terrible force to behold. As with all Dragon Claws, he seems surly and silent when not in combat, but is one of the Chapters most gifted bone-artisans. Dragon Claw squad Isacharr is normally the spearhead of the strike force, and is commonly accompanied by Captain Taal in combat.

    Entry 2

    +++++++Inquisitor’s Report+++++++

My Resent tour of duty of Exkalmar Minor, a deathworld on which the 325th Cadian Regiment was posted to exterminate a Kroot Mercenary force that landed there to recuperate from a crippling blow when they attacked a Imperial Convoy Orbital Station. Upon the commencement of operations the Cadians encountered a force much stronger than anticipated.

I toured the front line operations and at one stop point the Kroot launched an attack, there seemed to be hundreds of kroot and several Great Knarlocs, just as they about to over run our position Krak Missiles took out the Knarlocs while the nearest Kroot started falling left and right, I pushed the remaining troops and we pushed the foul Xenos back. Afterwards investigating the dead kroot it seemed they were killed with Sniper rounds. I had my Sage check Trajectories and we found where the shots had come from but could find no signs of anyone every having been there. Then later he had tracked what looked like the Tracks left behind by a dreadnought or sentinal, he followed rthe tracks to where it seemed the Kroot were keeping Knarlocs, we found 16 dead Knarlocs, and enough knarloc bits to make giving the exact number of Knarlocs killed impossible.

Later a Junior Officer recounted me the story of his detachment tracking a host of Kroot, only to find them all dead in a clearing. Just before they had heard a steady rumble or roaring so they took defensive postitions until the sounds passed.

This leads me to believe we are not alone on Exkalmar Minor and we are still evaluating the need for reinforcements.

Your faithful servant, Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Saknor.

    ::INQUISITORIAL REPORT::

-To the soldiers of the False Emperor:

We of the Legion of the Shadowy Flame do not wish to fight. We would much rather go about our business on your planet without your interference. However, should you wish to fight, we will stop at nothing to destroy each and every one of you. We will send our best assassins to kill your women and children, but not before you have seen them writhe in their pain.
We will deploy our greatest demolitions experts to destroy your bases of operations, your infirmaries, your entire operation. And finally, we will incite rebellion to the point where you can no longer trust your brothers-in-arms. We will cut every string that keeps you clinging to your pathetic lives, except for the one string, life. We will completely and utterly destroy your lives before we finish you.
Yet, should you join us, we will welcome you with open arms. You will become true battle brothers, some of you even being inducted into our great chapter of space marines. You shall be part of a greater cause than your Imperium, fighting for real gods, not a false Emperor barely able to lift his hand in command.
    JOIN US BROTHERS!!!

This propaganda, being spread by The Legion of the Shadowy Flame, is NOT, under any circumstances, to be seen by any of the less zealous of our Imperial Armies. The Legion uses skilled saboteurs and infiltrators to spread propaganda and fear. When fighting against these traitors, exterminate with extreme prejudice.

I liked entry 2 the best. Good fluff and nice list to go with it. After that would have been entry 1. To go with that fluff I would have added another scout squad or two and replaced the assault squad with a normal squad (just my thoughts). Entry 3 would have been my second choice if it had included cultists. The cultists would have represented infiltrating the society. As it says:
The Legion uses skilled saboteurs and infiltrators to spread propaganda and fear.
Pretty good entries. Some just missing some points in their lists.

Well some chaos forces (I believe alpha legion does this) is that they use massive propaganda campaigns to recruit imperial citizens. This allows a source of fresh recruits along with spies and saboteurs (think the french of dutch resistance druing WWII) to help their cause of destroying the world. It is much easier to have someone do something by their own will instead of forcing them to do it. In this case be ruled by chaos forces.
