im looking to starting a second 40k army. and the Inquisitors look realy cool to me and i was thinking of starting an army with that as my leader possibly. i also realy like imperial guard im not a big fan of sisters of battle, other elements of the whitch hunters do look appealing to me. though i deffently dont want to do anything in normal power armour (they're boring to me).
so i was wondering if it would be better to do whitch hunters with inducted imperial guard (or i heard they can have storm troopers or something like that) or just imperial guard and have some elements of which hunters in the army.
That's entirely up to you.
Personally, I wouldn't give up on the Sisters of Battle. Acts of Faith are BRUTAL. They aren't to be sniffed at.
Otherwise, the SOB get very nice heavy support choices that are generally unavailable if they were allies, but some of the Guard tanks are burly as well. This is entirely up to you.
Inquisitors are very fluffy and can support the army nicely.
Read the Witch Hunter's tactica in the 40k Tactica forum for more info. It'll help you out immensely.
As Adrian says, it is really up to you with =][= forces, for both DH and WH the problem is that the Sisters and GKs respectively are very owerfull and most (but not all) end up going down that route, particularly WH whose inquisitors lack some of the niceties that turn DH=][= in such killers, so many WH players end up as pure sisters armies
BUT that does not preclude taking a force made without sisters
Everything you have been told is a lie!
I've seen nothing to tempt me to play Grey Knights, overall. They've got overspecialised wargear, they're expensive, they're slow, and against the one thing they are the ultimate against they face ungodly huge hordes. More importantly, they preclude Daemonhosts, which are oh so cool!
The Sisters make more sense as they're cheap (in points if not in money!) and flame-wielding Space Marine wannabes with enough faith to do psychic things without the annoying little bit about actually having to be psykers is always a good thing.
Inquisitors = fun. Fun stuff that can't make a force on its own and needs something like Inducted IG/Allied SM/Kroot Mercs/Sisters/GK to help. Enough siad.
I had this idea of taking the Chaos Renegade upgrade kit, doctrining up an IG force to represent a Redemptionist cult (or, hell, just the Inquisitor's private army) and having an Inquisitor Lord & assistants in on the action. This mainly comes about as I look at most of the renegade militia stuff and it strikes me as more "not as well paid or organised as the IG" than specifically Chaotic. Admittedly it would take some work to get rid of the Chaos marks on some bits now I take a closer look, but the need to convert makes me salivate not recoil...
