What unit in 40k do you feel is the best value for points and therefor most overpowering in a points vs points situation?
I had this discussion with a friend and they seem to think that genestealers, bloodletters, and tau fire warriors are way too overpowered for their points cost.
What are other peoples views? What do you think the most overpowered unit is vs points?
Chaos - 11W 0L 0D
Orks - 8W 0L 0D
Tyranids - 8W 0L 0D
Monolith....mostly because comparing with a landraider it is much better and also a bit cheaper in points.
Raven Claws Space Marine Chapter........2500 points

a squad of firewarriors can butcher a guard squad at maximum fireing range, tooo over powered I think.Monoliths as well.
For tanks I'd take the monolith for it's "immune to everything" ability or else the Dark Eldar Raider which ways in less than 1/4 the cost and only fails to do it's job if the DE player screws up. Falcon is a close second.
For figs I'd probably have to say a dark eldar sniper squad, 10 Dark Eldar warriors with 2 darklances. Dire Avengers are definately up there, as are genestealers and harlies (with kisses).
As to firewarriors being over powered, the ability to butcher a squad of guard isn't anything special, firewarriors strugle against MEQs and get eaten alive by heavy bolters. Bloodletters are only good against power armored opponents and have a hard time making points back against any type of horde army.
Everything I have told you, even this, is a lie.
For Infantry units, Battle Sisters win in my book. Good BS, decent weapon, power armour, and Faith for a cheap cost.
Harlies run a close second, but I think once people figure out tactics to combat then, they'll lose a lot of their flair.
Tank wise, the Falcon. Near impossible to kill (meaning you'll typically retain it's Victory Points), good weaponry, and the ability to transport.
Wyches. Also a monolith
I would have to say the standard Space Marine. They are pretty darn good at everything, they have good shotting abilities, good CC abilities, and are darn hard to kill. Sure they aren't perfect at one thing, but since they can do just about anything, you have to give them credit.
I play my 40k with friendly fire.
Finally fixed the link!
i'de acctualy say your basic chaos space marine. cheaper then its loyalist counterpart and everybit as good (ATSKNF is not worth 2 more points IMO) they can be creat at close combat or firesupport. and with only a few upgrades of vet skills or weapons and they can do huge damage.
i reckon the average Grey Knight in power armour- some good rule, true grit with SBolter and Nemesis weapon... the ultimate Marine for its points! i reckon neways *ducks back under bedcovers...*
