I know it has been posted but it was locked, and there was no discussion. But it is an interesting topic, if anyone can post info about discontinued armies and info that'd be cool. I've heard of Jokero, but I haven't found anything on them, not even a picture. Anyways, post discontinued 40k armies here.
I'll also include some discontinued models:
Squats : Dwarves in Space !
IG: there used to be imperial beastmen!
Eldar: The old eldar dreadnought has become wraithlord, the old wraithlord doesn't exists anymore and who remembers spirit warriors or eldar knights.
Harlequins : I think they recently re-introduced them, not sure.
Thats all I remember for now.
Jocero was never an army, they were an advanced race that some of the rogue traitors came into contact with that had uber-advanced weapons. Finger sized versions of the needle pistol hand flamer las pistol and weber.
The only person in the 40k universe that has them that I can think of is Commander Tyco of the blood angels.
I can think of a few other armies
I am sure there are more, I’ll have to look threw my old books.
The Imperium had robots once.
Hey yeah, you had to cut out the little chits and assemble a program for them. Took hours. Stupid Robots. I've still got a Cataphract and a Colussus figure somewhere.
The Zoats were part of the tyranids. That's why I still insist on using my old space zoat figures as tyranid warriors when in GW. They look just the part.
I think the Jokero roughly resembled Orangutans. Don't remeber there being any figures tho'.
All the old dreads were in WD100. Including the Eladr ones. The wraithlord thing came along a bit after and seemed to stick. It was exactly the same as the dread but with a little head. Aww bless.
*sigh* those were the days. You'd get 5 minis in a blister for 2.50...
Do the things
I played fantasy at the time wish I had all those old space figs.
Just try to imagine how a the deathwing would look like if using the first terminator models  .
Still have a couple of thousand skeletons, maybe I'll start a necron army.
Right, lets see:
Genestealers (ie they didn't used to be part of the tyranid armies)
Squats (Old Space Dwarfs, discontinued due to copyright issues)
Zoats (Slaves used my the tyranids)
Slann (The old ones)
Exodites (Eldar who still live on their origional worlds)
Chaos Beatmen (An army in its won)
Beastmen (In Imperial Guard Armies!
Chaos Orks (Especially Khornate Stormboyz)
Jokaero (Orangutans who could make anything out of anything)
Imperial Robots (Current Imperial law prohibits the building of robots without souls - hence the sevitors)
Hell, I remember the very first Chapter Approved article, with rules for Space Marine Vincent Blackshadow Hoverbikes, and the very first rules for Raven Wing Dark Angels.
I live in your eyes
There were actually some metal models made of imperial beastmen that still float around ebay from time to time. Pretty funny. They were pretty common in 1st edition. But that was before my time. I started right around when 2nd edition came out.
Anyone seen the old SM plastic boxs? Those looked sweet, I like them as much as todays ones, no more, no less, they just look cool. They also had like 32 for £15 was it? I wreckon im right there, GW used to be cheap. . .
They used to use materials that would slowly poison you to death.
