Hey Iíve been rewriting my chapter army fluff recently after looking back at what I previously had and feeling that it wasn't quite right for some reason, and so got to starting from scratch.
However Iíve come upon a blank now as the fluff I got in my head just doesn't seem to sound right and as the topic title says, itís got to do with the warp.
As it is at the moment, I have my chapter fleeing from there home world as its about to be destroyed in order to preserve as much of their fighting force as possible, but as I have it in my head their escaping fleet is to somehow get caught in the warp and later escape.
The way Iím thinking is that they either get caught up in a warp storm, or something goes wrong when using their warp drive.
Now one thing Iím wondering is if either of these options would be viable at all (or if they just wouldn't happen) and also once lost in the warp, how exactly would one find a way out.
For finding a way out, I was thinking along the lines of the Chapter librarians somehow opening a rift within the warp that would bring them back to conventional space, but again Iím not sure whether this would be viable or even possible.
Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah, either of those are viable, getting lost in a warp storm or having trouble with the drive. The warp is a random and dangerous place, full of nefarious possibilities.
I'm not sure a Librarian can open a way out of the warp, as generally warp travel is the venue of a Navigator. However, the warp is a place of potential, so it could happen, I suppose.
A good question for your background is whether there were other influences that led your chapter into getting lost in the warp, how they were changed by the experience, how others view them for having been lost in the warp, how long they were there (since time flows differently in the warp), and what if anything came out of the warp with them when the Librarians blasted their way out.
Should be some fun fluff! Good luck!
Just so you know i've posted my fluff which can be found at the link below.

Thanks or your comment Tekore, would probably have been pondering about it for ages :p
Hmmm... I'm not sure that the Librarian would be able to do such a thing... ships can only pass through the Warp safely thanks to their Geller field, which more or less stops any and all warp energy getting to the ship (I think). The Librarian wouldn't be able to use their powers to get out without risking the whole ship being munched by dśmons.
The usual way of getting out of a warpstorm is to be "spat out", deposited at random in realspace by a chance flicker of the Warp. And there's no real saying where or when you'll come out with those.
Maybe the warp let the librarians think they were busting out....
MWA HA HA HA HA!
It's possible, but that would require the Librarians to think that such a process was a good idea. And, to be as picky as possible, the Warp can't really choose to spit them out. They may be brought forth by a BIG ritual performed by a Sorcerer, but that requires many, many sacrifices to do. Although it could be a decent part of the plot for them.
