Its a rough draft... I am writing from work so hard to concentrate on it. I am sure there are errors and some of the terminology is off. I am writing it to see if I can come up with a good background/idea to have Marines and Necrons in the same army. Yes yes I know... ZOMG thats insane crazy will never happen. Just thought it would make for a good fluff story though. The Blighted Legion is the name of my Necron army.
Anyhow here it is.
***The Blighted Legion and the Brux Clan, Iron Hands Chapter***
Battle of the March on Brekart as reported by Commissar Jerikk of the 117th Cadian Regiment
“Word was passed down through the Commissars that the fleet had engaged a Xeno threat and was pulling out in order to regroup and repair at the battle stations of Brekart III. We were order to bunker down and prepare for enemy landfall. Other than that, we received little information for several hours. The men were well prepared; I have never served with a finer group…”
“We do not need to hear the praise of the dead… continue on with the report Commissar Jerikk.”, hissed a very displeased voice.
“Eventually we started receiving reports from our outlying positions of enemy sightings. Most of the men who were sending back the reports had no idea who they were facing. It wasn’t long before the Commander issued orders to cease all communications as the men were hearing all sorts of wild reports of strange xeno soldiers appearing from black and green buildings that appeared out of now where, even heard a few reports of Marines that made landfall as well. I remember checking the night cycle and reporting that we had 14 more hours left before daylight. The nights on this world are long.
I remember when the orders came down, it was still a few hours to daylight. I remember the clarity and sharpness of the Commanders voice as he disclosed who our enemy was. The Necrons had come to Brekart IV. He informed us that the Imperial Fleet was at least a week away from being able to stage an attack after the initial loses suffered by the Necrons. Through his office was dispatched documents on what we knew about the Necron threat and it was our jobs to ensure that the men knew how best to deal with them in battle.
By morning the Xenos where on the move and our guns were pounding them at range. We could see their great monoliths from our positions as they neared the forward positions. My unit was stationed near the cities great gates…”
“It is written that there was three platoons stationed by the gates… Why?”
“We had orders to hold the line in case the primary and forward positions where overrun and the regiment was forced to fall back into the city.”
“I see… continue.” the voiced whispered.
“As the enemy neared we started getting reports that marines were making drops along the southern parapets of the city, near our heavy gun emplacements. We were ecstatic for if the Marines could make drops then something must have changed in orbit… maybe the Navy was already back. Cheers were rising up among the ranks but this ended quickly. Not 15 minutes after the marines made their landfall, the bombardment stopped. We started getting reports that more of the Monoliths were dropping right along the forward positions and the xeno warriors were pouring out of them into our lines. It wasn’t long before we lost the forward positions. The commander ordered those that could hear him to fall back to the primary positions and hold the line, that our reserve tanks were moving up to counter this threat.”
“Was there anything about the loss of the artillery position?”
“When no word came back over the vox a platoon was sent to investigate. It took them about 10 minutes to mount up and then reach the positions. The first couple of communications that came out of that… for Command only, I am sure. I know that only one Chimera came back from that platoon and immediately went directly to the Command position.
Time seemed to slow down then… for me at least. I could watch from our vantage point the front lines as the Necrons made their way from the forward positions to the primary lines. Even though our tanks and heavy guns pounded them we could tell that without the artillery support there was little hope to stop their advance. When the Necrons hit the lines it was a massacre. Suddenly there were Necrons crawling out of the ground behind the lines and between the warriors and these newly appearing Necrons our men were being cut down in quick order. Tanks were covered by small metal bugs, we could see the crews frantically trying to pull their tanks out of the fixed positions. Command sent down orders to fall back into the city, I remember hearing the sergeant passing the word down to the men in the trench and then… that’s when our position was hit.
Things are kinda blurry for me… I remember seeing the sergeant laying near me, he was dead. I remember looking out behind our position, not that I could move my head. I realized that part of the rubble from our position was covering me. The battle continued around me and I know I was passing in and out of consciousness. Everything seem to pass slowly for me. I can recall seeing a chimera pass by my position followed by guardsmen. I remember seeing a few look into our bunker and then move on, I think they assumed I was dead. I remember hearing bolter fire and watching a fire fight between our guardsmen and someone that I could not yet see. I recall thinking… that it was odd that I heard bolter fire when I couldn’t see any of them carrying bolt pistols. The guardsmen fell back and then a dark shape appeared in my vision… marines walking slowly past toward the fleeing guardsmen. One turned and looked into our destroyed bunker. I was at first elated that the marines where here even though I knew it was they that the guardsmen were fighting just a few moments before hand. He raised his bolter and shot twice into the rubble that covered me. I must not have reacted for he just moved on after that. I laid there staring into nothingness. I thought I died really… I thought I was dead and I just didn’t realize it yet.”
“And what of the marine… what did you see?”
The Commissar focused on the Inquisitor.
“The armor… was that of a marine… well what of it he wore. His left leg and left arm were sleek black metal… not like the bionics that you have but certainly not of flesh and blood. I saw no markings of the Emperor or the chapter… and his eyes… had this glow.”
“That’s enough Commissar. You may leave. Your reassignment orders are waiting for you at the regimental offices.”
“Yes sir.” Standing, the commissar turns to leave… then stops and looks at the Inquisitor. “Sir… when that Marine looked down at me… he looked disgusted.”
“What do you mean… disgusted. You stated he didn’t say anything in your report.”
“On Megthrin VII when we fought the those cultists warbands… they felt they were the pure… that they were better than us. When he looked down at me… I saw that in his eyes. I know that the Adeptus Astartes are better… that they are the angels of the Emperor but… this was just different. It was cold and calculated… it was…”
“Thankyou, that’s enough. You may leave now Commissar.” The Inquisitor watched as the Commissar left then turned to the wall behind him. “I think we found the Brux Clan of the Iron Hands Chapter.”
A hidden door opened allowing an Inquisitor Lord to step in. He shook his head while taking a seat. “Yes… there are a few recordings to back that up. You have issued orders for the Commissar to join your retinue… why?”
“He is an asset and I would prefer to utilize him instead of execute him like the others.”
“Very well. We have received word that no marine remains were found… its curious. Let us hope that they manually went back and recovered the bodies… and not something else.”
“We have had doubts about the faith of the Iron Hands… this should…”
“No… this is not enough to call out a Chapter for a heresy that is not borne of chaos. The idea that Marines have fallen in with the Necrons is… unheard of. We need more than proof… we need absoluteness in their betrayal. I am sending you to the Produx System to investigate the last appearance of the Bux Clan. See what you can find.”

The transmission received below was sent under duress. Our attempts to establish contact with the Inquisitors Astropath have failed. The message has only been transcribed by the Astropath and immediately sealed for your eyes only.
***Inquisitor Lord Maltick***
***After a comprehensive search of the Produx system we found a lead to LV3427, it’s a barren system that has only ever been used by rogue traders and pirates. The Imperial fleet makes rounds through the system destroying any habitations and stations found. They have never reported anything more***
***After doing thorough research on the reports by the Imperial Fleet we focused our investigation on a barren world. LV3427-R56 specifically***
***The planet is heavily shattered and broken into several plates. We found that it was highly probably that small craft were making their way into the deeper recesses of the planet itself through the great cracks in its surface. Our scans picked up some debri on the surface that correlate with reports from a previous Imperial sweep***
***Two drop ships were sent into the largest of the craters and breaks in the planets surface, that was two days ago. We have no heard back from the Cororsa IV but we just heard back from the Claws Fury. Here is the message***
***Inquisitor Larveack! We found a staging area, its large… large enough to hold a battle barge comfortably with space to spare. It appears that there was a very large scale overhaul done on multiple vehicles and quite possibly even warships. There is a limited amount of remains but in them… we found multiple objects bearing the symbols of the Imperium that appear to be from both armored vehicles and individual power armor. We have a sampling and are bringing them back now***
***Inquisitor, we found something else as well. I realize that reporting it over this channel is dangerous but I feel it necessary. We have already had multiple engine malfunctions and I fear that we have a saboteur on board***
***Commissar Jerikk discovered a chamber with several large black pillars that surrounded large tables carved from solid pieces of stone. All over the ground around these tables were bits and pieces of armor, this was identified by the Commissar. He is absolutely sure that they are from the power armor worn by marines. Upon further….***
***We just lost number three engine! Sir, we also found pieces of cybernetics… a lot of them. Some of them in good order but tossed on the floors with the other scrap…***
***Black beetle like creatures are on the drop ship and we are attempting to remove them. The drop ship is listing. I repeat, the drop ship is listing***
***Even as we are making attempts to recover the drop ship, we are experiencing system malfunctions on board. I fear that we have also been infected with these little black mechanical beetles… scarabs. The captain believes that we can successfully sweep the ship of them but I am not so sure of it. I request assistance from any Imperial ship you can send***
The Inquisitor Lord read the transmission again before looking toward the captain of the Sorishi’s Fate. “Proceed to the Produx System with all haste. It appears my young Inquisitor found something of importance.”

It totally works. the iron hands primarch is said to have necrontyr living metal hands ect. And this totally fits with the fluff in my opinion. A great job making a schism in the iron hands to follow the necrons (Similiar to mechanicus to Void dragon) gret job, and i cant wait to see more!
wow, i like he idea of IH siding with Neccies. altho im sure many will object. but it seems to work.
theres still alot i need to learn about the other primarchs and their chapters (secret-wise)
so yesh, very nice i like the way its from another person point of view too
In the name of the Emperor and for the Glory of the Imperium... Gimme Back My Girlfriend! :(
I made a bit of an update. I like the idea of the story so I may actually try to write out some more. With Apoc coming out, I may see if I can run with a Iron Hands force and my Necrons in battles. I think they could be modeled well. Marines with a Necron arm or leg here and there. I could really have fun with a vehicle making it look more Necron like.
So the inquisitor died? Along with the cool commisar? Say it aint so!!
Anyway, i love that appocolypse idea! Make marines with living metal hands and feet and stuff? Super cool.
He hasn't died yet. Just haven't gotten to what happened next
Glad you like it!
Ya so after getting the Apoc Book... I am totally going to get a Marine Megaforce and then Necron them up. May be a bit before I get it but I think they will look cool. I have lots of Necron parts to use as legs and arms etc. This will be so much fun!
