On the subject of my eldar army, ive played a few games now (only three "proper" games though) and found it wasnt quite what i was expecting. I wanted an aggressive piratical force, and mines pretty defensive to be honest....
As such, im considering converting to DE, (still keeping 1.5k of my models as eldar though =D) but im having problems. I want mine to be "eldar pirates", so their is a few dark eldar in among them and suchlike, but some things are giving me problems. Can anyone think of fluffy "counts as" for:
Bear in mind that my eldar were originally normal eldar, but are now hardened veterans, plundering the seven systems and whatnot ^^.
Any ideas anyone, i dont mind using the odd DE thing (such as raiders and ravagers, they look awesome imo), but i want it to look "traitorous" not outright DE.
P.S. Can anyone comment on whether or not the DE army is good or not? or would i be better staying eldar?
You don't really need any "counts as" things for troop types in an Eldar pirate band; I'd imagine they train in whatever weapons they're either used to prior to becoming a pirate and/or they have a particular fondness for. They'd have to be counts as rules-wise yes, but modelwise and fluffwise they probably shouldn't look like they are.
As such, the archon should be a pirate captain (something like Yriel, but not a carbon copy), and the raiders will probably look closer to normal Eldar vehicles. I'd look up conversions for Venoms if you want a true counts-as effect; Venoms are the closest thing to Raiders that the loyalist Eldar have.
Well, now the units im having problems with are (ive made a list now)
And im using DE jetbikes!! they look awesome imo!
