Hi there, just a little bit of fluff about my Custom Imperial Guard regiment and their Home world. Enjoy!
Planet Name: Tahrran
Planet type: Hive world & Death World
Population: 75,000,000,000,000 -Precise number unknown-
Temperature: 4 - 59 Degrees
Regiments: 501 Regiments (Including mine the 1st Tahrran Legion)
Production Rates Per Week:
Children - 57,532
Lasguns - 199,458,236
Flak Armour sets - 470,365
Chimeras - 34,657
Tahrran was colonised by forces of the Imperium in M34. Citizens from Armageddon were brought to this Colony due to the similar conditions on the two planets, the conditions outside the Massive Hive cities are so deadly they can kill a man in a day or two. Due to Tehrran being in a sector near to the now Dead Gryphonne IV they were supplied with a lot of Tech-designs for upgrading Chimeras (Only after being given permission by the Adeptus Mechanicus) These design templates where then used to Mass produce vehicles such as the Auto cannon conversion for the Chimera and the Heavy bolter conversion and the Flamer conversion, so even after the destruction of Gryphonne IV these vehicles are still being produced in mass numbers. Due to the large amount of space on the planet massive food containers were built under the desolate Deserts that corve the planet. They were designed to store large amounts of food incase the Planet ever became under seige.
The War of Tahrran:
Due to Tahrran being so close to Gryphonne IV its not surprising that Splinter fleets from Hive fleet Kraken found there way to this desolate planet, During the war for Tahrran 47 Hive ships with over 567,000,000,000 Tyranid life forms on board attacked Tahrran, the Orbital defences of the time were minimum and were destroyed, whilst the Tyranid attack were under way near by Imperial forces sent two Imperial Battle fleets through the warp in order to save the planet, unfortunately the two Battle fleets were lost in the warp never to be heard from again. Two years into the war both sides were still fighting strong, but the Imperium had all but given up on Tahrran and classed it as a dead world. With no hope of help from nearby planets and all hope gone the Tahrranians practically gave up, but after a push in the Northern Hemisphere of the planet hope was renewed when a strategic shipyard was recaptured , giving the Tahrranians a hope to drive the Tyranids from the planet by destroying the ships in orbit. After another 2 years of bloody fighting the Tahrranians won and drove the remaining few Tyranid ships from Tahrran. The Inquisition sent a team to check and make sure no Genestealer cult had been set up and luckily it hadn’t so Tahrran was returned to being a Hive world and nothing more was said about it.
The 1st Tahrran Regiment
The Regiment was formed shortly after the colonisation of the planet and obviously was the first Regiment to be formed. The 1st makes use of the exclusive technological upgrades to their Chimeras, every Chimera in the Regiment has a Auto cannon turret therefore boosting up the fire power. During the war of Tahrran a push in the Northern Hemisphere is mentioned, the push was made by the 1st and two other Regiments, but obviously with the 1st being the more experienced Regiment they took the Spearhead and pushed 127Km in one day (But also causing the loss of 3 platoons that the Regiment still hasn’t been able to replace) taking the Tyranid Hive Minds by complete surprise and capturing the Shipyard facilities in the same day; therefore their attack marked the beginning of the end for the Tyranids.
Tech Priests: 57
I was a bit concerned about the 567 billion Tyranids, until I saw that they was approximately 75 sextillion people on the planet. That's more than 100 million people versus each single Tyranid. Even with lasguns, that's good odds!
As for the story...well, that a long time to fight organisms that consume everything organic in their path. What did the defenders eat on this toxic world? (Obviously the Tyranids had a food supply...) I suppose they had some sort of food reserves and hydroponics and such...but it would be pretty dicey. All the other hive worlds that I recall have to have food shipped in...
I think you need more troops. Not in this company, but on world, to explain being able to fight for so long. Maybe this is a garrison world too? It does have approximately 75 sextillion people. Honestly, I'm reminded of the Dane Cook joke about leaving his girlfriend because she exaggerates too much. "There was a fire next door, there must have been a thousand firefighters." It really distracts from the story you are trying to tell, that of a band of heroes who held back a massive Tyranid fleet and saved their world from destruction. Lighten up on the fleet they stopped a tad....don't be afraid of having support...and really, really, take some zeros off the population. Heroism doesn't have to be all about "I killed 9000 Chaos scum with a rusty track piece that I casually ripped from a Baneblade." But that's my opinions. :/

Okay, thanks for the responces guys, i know the number arn't realistic, me and my freind came up with them as a joke, i hope it doesn't make it seem too un-realistic. Also Updated it slightly to show how the Citizens lasted so long (Food and water ect.)
