I was wondering if an Imperial Alphabet, or language had been developed for the 40k world. Has anyone come acroos a language scripture or alphabet?
I would imagine it would be in a gothic type face and would be very similar to ancient latin?
As i understand there are 2 main forms of imperial languare known as High gothic and Low gothic, there are obviously thopusands of others used by civiliseations but these are the main 2 "imperial" languages.
Low Gothic is more or less how we speek now, its pretty much English and is used by the majority of the impirium. High gothic is used by the "higher ups" and is more of a posh way of speeking, it is very similar to Latin but if you translate it then it ofton doesnt make sense!!!

~~ Surrender and serve me in life, or die and slave for me in death~~
that does shed some light on it, Just from looking at scriptures on company banners, the language used does look like that of a Latin origin.
As with most latin translations into modern english, alot it lost in the translation.
On a related note....
Does anyone know of any 40k true type fonts available.
Those strange numeric symbols on the space marine transfer sheet would be good.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
I would just use the Gothic font on MS Word. That seems to be about right.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
