Can every living, sentient being in the galaxy be turned to chaos? Not necrons or nids obviously, but could orks or tau turn to the dark side?
It seems to me that an Ork is an Ork and would happily fight for Khorne for example over Gork and Mork if that ork considered Khorne more fightier.
I can't think why a tau would turn, but in any expanding empire there is going to be friction, jealousy and bitterness so it seems feasible to me for their to be chaos tau.
Chaos Orks would be cool - Khorks, Tzorks, Slorks and Nuorks (fnarr fnarr) - has there been any mention anywhere of orks like that, is it just not a done thing?
Why should worship of the chaos gods be left solely to huming beans?
I can't say I've seen it all but I live for the things that keep me hollow.
Eldar worship chaos, i think they used to have chaos orks but they didnt take. hmm lol the chaos orky gods. tau and orks... i think the tau are too brainwashed to be corrupted. its possible and the orks are just too stupid. lol they might even have too strong a faith in theur orky gods.
Necrons and tau cannot be corrupted by chaos or they havent been yet. Pretty much impossible for necrons but i dont know enought about tau to talk.
Tyranids actualy get corrupted by chaos all the time. They are fleash and blood and so can be mutated to chaoses whims if far enough away from the hivemind. I think that the iron warriors legion has a whole hiveship under their control but i could be wrong.
Other than that everyone else is free game. All other races and be corrupted by chaos, excluding the grey knights of course. There are Khorne orks out there just not in bulk and they are pretty much berserker orks.
Eldar do not worship chaos, their old gods were beings of the warp but not chaos gods. True some eldar have fallen to chaos (that one farseer who turned to tzeench, probably still some pleasure culters skulking in some craftworlds) but as a majority eldar are very good at resisting chaos and hiding from it.
2500pts Emperors Children
1000pts Dark Eldar Cabal of Agony Eternal
Nids can, if far away enough from the Hive Mind.
Necrons, no way.
Tau, it could happen, but would it be worth the effort? Their Ethereal caste, according to other discussions I've had on the matter, are impermeable to such corruption, but it might be possible. Farsight's background hints at it a bit, he may have turned to Khorne. There are other theories, however.
Kroot might do so without the intervention of a Shaper. Vespid have too many unknowns.
Squats can turn, I think. (Dammit, they exist! You be quiet!)
Humans/SM (excluding Grey Knights) can and will turn to Chaos with enough effort.
Craftworld Eldar have an entire lifestyle designed to keep them off Chaos' path. But I'm sure that if you abducted an Eldar at birth and raised it to a different standard, you could turn it then.
Dark Eldar are a mixed bunch. They don't worship Chaos (except perhaps the Incubi, who have been theorized to be related to Arha, the original Phoenix Lord of the Striking Scorpions who 'burns with the Dark Light of Chaos'), but I'd imagine that they would be more likely to fall or worship a god due to their less regimented lifestyle.
Orks can be turned (see Daemonhunters Codex for pics), but it's supposed to be very, very difficult.
Hope this helps, I think I hit all the races.
tau can be turned, but there lack of warp presence makes it difficult, something has to turn it from this side like a possessed object or place
yeah, i know... sorry if i was unclear
Propably chaos could infest anyone living. It can infest kroot through their meals (ie. if they eat the corrupeted creature, they can be turned by that alone) and I can't see why not the Tau too. Of course tau have smaller signatures and their ships don't venture as deep inside the warp, so they would probably be a tough cookie to corrupt.
But orks... Question that creeps into mind with orks is; Sure chaos can corrupt them, but why would they? Forces of Chaos are evil, not stupid!
In order to benefit from the chaos-orks, they would have to stay... well 'orky'. You would want Whaaagh! and you want mob rule and all the other things that make the orknoid greatest (if slightly unfocused) force of the universe. But if you want to have the orkish benefits, the orkishness in general follows.
That would mean, that every chaos-ork of any size would be challenging the your aspiring champion for the leadership position by having a brawl with him.Your chaos-mekboyz would be 'improving' your chaos marines power armours (possibly including a internal combustion engine on back with dual-overhead exhausts, red paint job and more dakka) when they aren't looking, funny little 'practical jokes' preformed during summoning rituals, possibly involving a grot tossed into the circle resulting a 3' tall demon.
In the end, your Demon Prince would stand on the battlefield and yell things like, "Blood to the Blood God!" and "Death to the False Emperor!" all the while bunch of chaos-ork would run past him singing, "'Ere we go, 'ere we go! 'ere we go!", couple of unbelievable loud bikes would pass him , while their riders would be telling the 'slowpoke' to 'git out ov my way' and all the while there would be punch of grots in the front of him would cheer and ask for a speech (they are not stupid, as long as they are with the 'boss', they don't have to advance).
In fact it would not unlike having devout football houligans taking part in Roman Catholic Mass, you might admire their devotion, but in the end you end up paying then for NOT to attend.
What does intelligence have to do with chaos? The orks being stupid has nothing to do with them being immune to the corruption of chaos. I mean, tyranids lack intelligence entirely. If anything, Khorne might be mildly attracted to the orks; They're an entire race, not just culture, but an entire SPECIES who's got nothing but war permanently registered in their very DNA. Another important thing to keep in mind is that orks are, unwittingly, powerful psykers, which would effect how much contact they have with chaotic elements.
Though I think the majority of the orks would hate their chaos cousins. Following Chaos Gods? They aren't even a healthy shade of green for Gork's sake!
I didn't claim orks to be too stupid to be corrupted, I claimed chaos too smart to corrupt them.
Second, you are wrong, orks don't have 'nothing but war' in their DNA. They have their entire culture there and that is one of the strongest in the universe. You can't simply wipe it out by corruption without corrupting away the strongpoints. And if you don't wipe it out, you get the whole package, which leaves the main question still open: If chaos corrupts orks, who ends up worse in that deal?
