There is a passage in the 4th edition rule book where a Inquisitor is speaking about planets he has purged and mentions a planet that is ruled by a giant machine and the inhabitants sacrafice themsevles and become one/part of it. Anyone have ANY idea at what the heck this giant machine could be?
I think. . .
Crud, now I can't remember.
The Deathwing story? No, that was genestealers. Wasn't it Chaos or something. I dunno.
Turtles For the Turtle God!
Shells For the Shell Throne!
Well, the planet sounds like something the adeptus mechanicus would have. It could be the necron codex? It sounds like something that might come from there.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
There was the crazy planet in the Grey Knights series where the evil Titan spirit ran things and the Dark Mechanicus had built all sorts of nasty biomechanical stuff, but at the end of the day, I think what the Inquisitor is mentioning is something that has no other point of reference.
Theres a reference in the 4th edition dark angels to it.The machine sounds like a mentally
linked internet or collective consciousness.
Sounds like something that Dark Mechanicus would do...
Would make a cool Apocalypse campagn wouldn't it?
Probably left over from the Dark Age of Technology. Great idea for a campaign but. You could go all Marathon on Warhammer.

Dark Age of Technology? Cool.
Think of all those fantasic relics of tech. to be had there, it's inhabitants could be more machine than man hence they could be regarded as Adepts of the Dark Mechanicus simply by making sacrifices to some gigantic machine...
This might sound awkward but, I wonder where this Machine Planet is, somewhere near Terra perhaps?
It sounds to me like it's an in-reference to the moloch scene from Metropolis.. I'd therefore doubt much was meant by it besides homaging a cool movie, but I'm sure you could run with it and make something cool.
