Typhus is really the head of the Death Guard-he talked Mortarion into turning to Chaos, and he is the host of the destroyer hive, the herald of nurgle. As the Primarchs of the other Legions devoted to the gods. Now Mortarion may have become disillusioned with Nurgle and wandered off to serve the Imperium in some way. He wanders off and somehow joins the ranks of the Fire Hawks. They then contract a terrible disease when becalmed or lost in the warp. This could be Nurgle sending its fury against the semi-god who betrayed him |

Is this speculation or a story you want to invent? If it's speculation you should know that the firehawks are the legion of the damned.. If it's some story of your own, just use another chapter than the firehawks for the story, the Wolf Brothers for example..

It's a nice story but what is your point. Chaos are Chaos of course they will betray each other
