Based off the bloodaxes as I feel their fluff fits my orks the most, as a waaagh of mostly elite units, organised well and using "un-orky" techniques when nessecary. The warboss is an ex-stormboy, in the same way that there are ex-SWAT members, or ex-SAS, he is a specialist like all stormboys and was trained that a well disiplined army works much better than letting each boy do his own thing, and thus has recruited only the meanest, toughest and most ruthless nobs in the land for his waaagh. Teaching the nobs in each squad what he learned while in the stormboys, he tells them that the best way to keep the squad ready for war is to keep them afraid of punishment, so the nobs are not worried about flushing out the weak orks in the squad if it will push the rest on to victory. And thus, this warbosses particular waaagh engages enemies not with horde, but with smaller elite squads built for specific roles, such as the ard boys, each equipt with a shield and slugga/choppa combo and operate in a similar fashion as the ancient spartan phalnax, the big mek leads them with a similar set up and a resounding "waaagh!". The stormboys have made their own, or stolen specially customised choppas designed to cut down the most enemies in a single swing during their incredibly fast hit and run attacks. And the mega armoured nobs take pride in their armour, attaching skulls of their favourite fallen enemy, space marines being the favourite, and request meks put extra spikey bits on, as well as special banners for each nob, to declare their presense on the battlefield to lesser orks. Nobs typically wear either field coats, litered with medals stolen from dead enemies or special ork medals the warboss gives out in ceremonies not too different from the imperium to reward his favourite orks, and to keep them fighting for his praise. The collars or shirts of each squad-leading nob has a specific insignia on it for the squad they control, this is so each nob can maintain control over his squad only, so he can focus fully on developing them into well-oiled fighting machines, and of course as a mark of rank among the lower orks. So although there are probably a lot of gaps missing in there and it probably doesn't make sense to you fluff specialists its the plan for my army, taken mostly from influences of communist countries and the way they fight, as well as iron-fist command style, to keep them on the edge of their toes constantly. Any comments I'd love to hear it? also my first "fluff" writting just so everyones aware.

interesting idea, I like the idea of heavily regimented orks. The stormboy code spread on to elder orks with a bloodaxe feel. The only problem I might see resides more in the making of a viable list, other than that this seems perfectly orky while still unique. The idea of a ork phalanx is also pretty cool, I think I may play on that idea if you don't mind. (going so far as to make orks with bronze helms, shields and spears.) Work a tad more on the idea and show us the finished product.

Well I've been sketching out a few ideas of how the kommisars will look and also about the shields, the choppas will have to either be mounted on long poles, or they are given spears from the start in the spartan squad at least.
