How come you dont see slannesh marines hunting down craftworlds? It makes sense to me that slannesh would want his follwers to aid in taking down the eldar and inflict as much pain on them in the process before destroying the spirit stones and sending their souls straight to the warp to be eaten.
I'm not entirely sure, but it's very possible that the knowledge of Webway Portals necessary to go to a craftworld. I do not think even Slaanesh is able to find the craftworlds as it has no direct control of outside the Warp, and craftworlds are extremely cut off from the rest of the universe.
Really? Thats interesting. What about maiden worlds or exodite worlds where eldar cant hide in the webway.
think of it like this.
regardless of how much you abhore the though of being no further than arms reach from multiple bugs (spiders, roaches, mealworms, silverfish, earwigs etc...) you don't go out of your way to hunt them down and kill them.
pretend eldar are the bugs and you are the patron of pain.
the real reason is that if they wipe out the eldar they lose alot of money
Dear Game Designer,
Rock is Cheese. Paper is fine.
Slannesh looks at eldar as food, not pests.
The answer to this can actually be explained fluff wise very well. Slaanesh will go far out of his way to get his hands on an entire craftworld. This is not so easy though. Eldar are an extremely intelegent race and no the ins and out so chaos better than any race. There craftworlds (being the last of their civilization) are protected more than anything else. With psycick wards and a planets worth of troops and space craft to defend it a craftworld is nigh impossible to take except from say a entire tyranid hive fleet or perhaps a whole imperial armada.
That being said slaanesh's space marine minions (Emperors Children, some other small warbands) are very few in number it would be impossible and indeed suicidal for any one of these chaos factions to try and take a craftworld, even if they could find it in the first place. It would take a massive invasion on the level of something only Abbidon himself could muster to take on an entire craftworld and what would a chaos lord want with such a large favor for only one of the chaos gods?
Now there is an account in the chaos daemons codex of Slaanesh using his last option to gain all the billions of souls on a craftworld...Daemonic incursion. If a craftworld drifts close enough to a weak point in reality say the EoT or the Malestrome then it becomes possible for daemons to infiltrate the minds and souls of eldar and eventually launch a full daemonic assualt through sabitoge of the craftworld spiritual defences.
But to comment on the other posts here: Slaanesh prizes eldar souls above all other and does indeed think of them more like a lifesorce than a pest.
Praise be to the dark prince! The time of ending approches!
2500pts Emperors Children
1000pts Dark Eldar Cabal of Agony Eternal
Perhaps a joint marine-daemon invasion of a craftworld or maiden/exodite world? The craftworld does seem far fetched but these maiden worlds or exoidte worlds that dont hide in the webway, the ones that DO have eldar. Those should be a prime target for Slannesh. Id love to see a Dark Eldar unwittingly raid a world with slannesh marines on it, however unlikely it seems.
That's already been tried, Hashulaman.
Apparently slaanesh is constantly trying to invade the craftworlds, only we don't know about it because the inquisition have hushed it up so much that not even slaanesh knows anymore!
