I Follow the Imperial Decree (Destroy them on sight)
The Above but accepting help only in the Direst of Circumstances
Im a Xeno- Lover (You seek their aid all the time)
I AM the Xeno... (^_^)b
Ok, so im not sure where to put this but seeing as it involves views from all players...
It mainly comes from thinking about what views my DIY Chapter has on the Alien...
Imperial Doctrine generally dictates that you crush the Xeno whenever you come across it, but we all know that many a Space Marine Commander, Inquisitor and Guard Commander have welcomed aid from the Eldar, Tau and Lesser Alien species...
So, my question is for everyone who (generally) takes the role of being Commander of their Imperial Forces seriously
Which type of Commander are you? (or Would be if you dont play Imperial Forces)
Your Marine Task Group/Guard Convoy etc (who are enroute to some Outpost in the middle of nowhere for Emperor knows why...) are suddenly attacked by Necron Forces...
However, just when all seems lost, Eldar Troops are sighted upoon the field of battle... the do not however, establish Communications.
How do you react to them? do you risk a silent Truce with them and hope they havent come to Eliminate you along with the Necrons, or do you avoid that risk by taking the Initiative and fire upon them first?
Now, replay that Scenario again, but this time the Eldar do establish Communications with you.
What are your actions this time? are they the same? or do they differ?
So, which kinda of Imperial Commander are you?
Me? i think only in the Direst of circumstances would i willingy accept the aid of an Alien, in general circumstances however, i would probably follow the Imperial Decree and put a bolter round through their/it's head(s)

The Emperor would not be pleased if I wasted ammo killing Xenos that are doing the job for me.
I say let the Eldar attack the Necrons and shoot them in the back as soon as that threat is nearly removed. Caught between the Gauss weapons and the Imperial Guns, the witches will have nowhere to go, then I kill what is left of the Necron forces before moving along.
If they open comms with me, I of course pledge my assistance in defeating the metal foe, but my plan remains the same.
What does it matter if a thousand Xenois should die if it saves a human life?

The rabid anti-alien sentiments in 40k is what attracted me in the first place, everytime i read about imperial commander accepting alien help i cringe, it's just not fluffy damnit!

I believe in "eye for an eye." If they havent fired at mine, I wont fire at theirs. If they have fire at mine, they will die.
If I see Eldar they will be cleansed as disgusting heathen aliens. Should they act as allies I will purge them with great and furious anger as to have dealing with aliens is the foulest treachery. The Eldar are inhuman and as such are guilty of the foulest heresy. To be inhuman is a crime in the Imperium and the Eldar are clearly aliens and therefore thier guilt of being inhuman is plain for all to see. That they are born as aliens does not excuse them from thier unforgivable and inexcusable guilt.
Some people will say that aliens are simply different from humans, these people also say they can be used as allies in times of need. However you must remember that all those people who say this are without exception foulest heretics and everything they say is a lie. Such people are clearly in need of cleansing. These vile people will also say that aliens live in thier own unique cultures but have similarities with humans, such as they have families, art etc. What these dangerous fools fail to see is that aliens only appear to have these things and are in truth monsters that mock the good, clean and honest virtues of family life. The alien is unclean and the unclean must be purged. Anyone who says different is a traitor, a heretic, a liar and a fool. That aliens are born unclean is thier fault as to be an alien is to be unclean and inhuman. Remember, ignorance of the law is no excuse. As such to be born as an alien is to be born a hideous thing.
Hear not the hideous voice of the alien. Speak not unto the disgusting face of the alien. See not the foul corrupting works of the alien. This is the policy which all subjects of the Imperium are rightly, wisely and justly bound. Planetary lords who disobey this, Space Marines or Imperial guard are all traitors and heretics and must be cleansed without pity or mercy. It is the good policy of destroying the heretic the mutant and the alien which has enabled the Imperium to survive. Those who make exceptions are dangerous in the extreme, likely worse than the loathesome monsters they would have traitorous dealings with.

Accepting a Xeno's help to win a battle is to help them achieve their objectives, not yours. The Imperium can always send more men, but once the alien's enemies are defeated...rest assured, friend, you are next!

Nice i like the way that there are a few of us who 'go the extra mile' when playing their commanders (and not just Imperial)
Anyone out there who wishes to anger the above fellow LO'ers with their views of allying with the Xeno? :p

As my regiment is from an Inquisitorial fortress world, they just shoot whomever the Inquisitors point them at. If this involves not shooting a foul xenos, then they won't shoot it. If it does.... they don't complain about that either. No seeking the aid of the xenos in either case.
That said, in both options one and two they'd deal with the immediate threat first, then the other if they stuck around too long.

"Innocentia Probat Nihil"
Citing the above example my reaction would be simple, honor your oaths and promises and act with dignity.
Example A )
Don't waist good opportunity by fighting two foes at once when one had you on the ropes. Fight the Necrons with the Eldar but don't trust them as they aren't worthy of trust and the enemy of my enemy is something to be dealt with later. After the Necrons are defeated, if the Eldar retreat or establish communications then let them leave or deal with them honorably for, thou they are alien scum, I do owe them a temporary leave of execution for their help.
Example B )
Since the alien had decided to act with honor (something that must have been hard for them) I will respond in kind. I would refuse to compromise my principles but will except agreements on battle strategy, surrender, and retreat after combat. Sometimes there are greater foes and I won't compromise my principles just to save my own life.
Either Example )
If they turn on you, they die.
This is how the Red Templars execute their wars.

As Exterminatus Extermis says:
Some may question your right to destroy ten billion people. Those who understand know, that you have no right to let live!
I shall answer though from experience and Xenology, that if you help Eldar and not kill them afterwards, you have any chance of survival, unexpactly pleasing them. Otherwise you'll be propobaly simply surprised and vanquished - it's not good idea to ad hoc bring fight to not only race, who is as often Imperial Ally as Enemy, but also damned gifted with Farsight. Whatever you decide, THEY, not you, know the consequences... sad but true. Good though, that they are dying, for that's their only reason for respect.
And later... it depends only upon their actions. However, it is better to live and serve the Emperor by giving your life him back purposefully, than pointlessly dying without causing too many casualties on those, who may as well help.
Not to mention Inqusition... Even Deathwatch and Ordo Xenos... what do I say, mainly they ally with Eldar.
But, you see, thing are changing depending on race. My answer when we would be speaking of, let's sy, Orks, would be different. It also depends on enemies - if we were facing Chaos, then unsuspecting alliance may be only way to victory. You know, the Emperor himself never said what to say with pointy-eared ones... Or Tau... If they shall fire first, then respond would be not surprising, as they would be not very different from Necrons.
