Alright this is my first crack at this, so go easy....when i first thought of it, sounded like a cool concept. I don't know if this has been done before so srry if this has been done before. All help is appreciated to fill in some blanks or clear up some facts etc. Omega Legion origin… History Just like the name suggest, Omega the last letter in the Greek alphabet. The Omega legion was formed after the Horus heresy, as a form of control for members of different Astartes chapters assigned to a death oath. With all the conflict taking place in many locations throughout the universe, this chapter is easily kept track of by the inquisition, when performing missions in hostile territory, which is mostly the case. When a Space Marine is charged with the death oath, instead of sending them blindly off to an impossible mission, some marines who have proven themselves valuable but don’t follow the codex 100% are approached (by someone or organization) and asked if they would like to serve with the last chapter…. Omega Legion. This isn’t a prison sentence but perhaps and chance at a new beginning, the missions are always deep in enemy territory or have lesser then average survival rate but allow marines to die like an Astartes in combat beside his brothers in arms. Development Gene Seed…. How does this chapter stay alive is a question, due to the mix of space marines from different chapters an array of gene seed can be present but as most know that some chapters do not allow there seed to leave there protection. To be quite honest the Chapter doesn’t recruit too heavily from the secretive chapters, most are acquired from the most stable gene seed chapters. Just like any other chapter the seed is secured when a space marine falls in battle and taken back for safe keeping (transferred back to the chapter or used in the lab for a future recruit). Since these marine can sometimes be completely wiped out, high ranking figures can run a vaporize protocol (kinda like the game Crysis) which can complete dissolve any trace of the armour or carcase so the enemy cannot gather any intelligence about this chapter. While this chapter recruits from other chapters they have there own way of brining up new adepts to fill the spots for command figures, elite squads, armour and even company dreadnaughts. These non death oath marines are often trained to be placed is leadership rolls or if enrolled into space marine tactical squads they are usually second line to charge in or placed on tasks with higher success rate, but never the less they get there fill for combat to keep there skills sharp. Objectives The major task for this chapter is to route out the Alpha legion’s secrets and bases located in friendly space. This task it self involves a lot of fine details, nothing is kept secret from the inquisition as reports are hourly/daily/constant. Reports of deeds, victories, progress reports, deaths and defeats are sent to the proper figures in each chapter that has space marine enrolled in the Omega Legion. This is done to keep track of chapter strays and exiles not to mention the population control for progressive chapters. Daily habits and life Life in side the Omega Legion is basically the same of an ordinary chapter…training, guidance and reflection for actions that lead them to this way of life. Due to the training already bestowed upon a space marine getting along in this chapter with other marines isn’t an issue. Actually it is really sufficient, each learning from each other, past experience, mistakes made and how to correct them in the time they have before the next call to arms, the only thing a space marine needs to prove here is his worth and respect that once was theirs. “We are not heroes, We are not forgotten, We are brothers in death’s oath, We are Omega Legion, We are the last!” AzraelAnnare – Head Chaplain of the Omega Legion and commander of the 1st Assault Squad Identification The colour worn by the Omega Legion is midnight blue for most of the armour a sign of misconception, each space marine has there own story to tell the dark blue is shroud for them to carry their burden to the end. The trim and high lights are blazing orange, an inferno colour showing there ferocity in battle, knowing each fight could be there last. There combat doctrine is structured and tested but in dire situations improvisation is sometimes applied, the bending of rules is often a last resort. This is a quick write up with the most knowledge I have with out consulting a book every 3 mins to verify facts. It is a first run through to see if this angle for a chapter story sounds believable. So please go easy I have played less then a year and still reading and learning bit by bit. |

ive been on these boards for years, never posting just reading to be honest this isnt that great of fluff. I see the concept that your going for, but its just not space marine. They dont get death oaths, the only chapter that selects out of other chapters is the deathwatch and they arent really a chapter. Marines are worth a lot, so they arent just sent into battles where they will die without a doubt. The vapourize order thing is completely unbelievable, no marine will destroy power armour or his gene-seed for the hell of it. And the things about reports to the inquisition doesnt make sense, the inquisition isnt one big body, its just a massive amount of splinters, with almost none governing over the others. I know you want a special chapter, but you cant use something like this. I like your idea for rooting out the Alpha legion, thats a cool idea,i dont think ive ever seen that before. Run with it, maybe change the name to Omega sons or something, because legion is preheresy. You should just make a simple normal chapter and add twists to it, not make a deathwatch-esqe chapter. |
