Hello there friends,
I am slowly working on a comic, a T'au comic, and I decided id get some help from the people who really care. Since it will be using fluff and people who would browse the fluff forum usually like fluff(i could be wrong) this definitely seems like a good spot.
It will be mainly vague stuff and teasers, full length will be in my blog(that I'm dedicating to this project cuz I got no other use for it)
So now onto the less boring more on topic stuff.
who are these tau?
-Tash'la a sept i created to be my current tau army(more like a kill team but i has a terible will power and am easily distracted)
what do they look like?
-Armor- Dark blue(regal blue) and semi light blue(ultramarines blue)
-fatigues- dark grey(codex grey black washed)
-sept color- golden yellow
-on a planet or habitable moon(probly the moon idea)
-on a planet habited by orks and nids(maybe) aslo might throw in other aliens not sure yet.
-characters are of a force that is sent to an enemy area(un explored, posibly this habitable moon)
-liking the idea of a small army camp not exactly front lines more like an outpost or small encampment for this unexplored area. kinda a M*A*S*H like story, though not necisarily doctors and such.

also i would like you help with suggestions for character, story and anything really
if you have sorces to T'au fluff please feel free to link it
some questions to start with might be:
-should it be cartoony or more serious (im more of a cartoony artist but kinda want to try more gritty comic feel)
-should it be on a habitable moon of this T'au colony world or an unexplored continent
-who should be the bad guy, i was thinking orks or tyranids(possible more like probably both) but i may throw in some other random races
ask or brain storm away i could use the help

I like the idea, the bit about the M*A*S*H thing is interesting. As far as bad guys go both Orks and Tyranids have their good and bad points, what I mean by that is how easy they will be for you to write about. Orks are very loud, in-your-face type baddies and will provide a good enemy that is east to work with.
Tyranids are harder to draw and have all their weird symbiote stuff going on which might require a little more research. Removing a Tyranid bullet would actually involve removing a living thing, Tyranid ammo are Tyranids. This could be a plus as it will give you lots of fun cooking up stories about surgery to remove the Tyranid organism which then runs off and wreaks havoc.
I think that whoever you do as a baddie make sure you treat them well. What I mean by that is make them nasty, make it look like they are winning. It will not be as good if you create a comic which looks like Tau propoganda, good war films and good war comics never look like propoganda.
Thanks for the input, thinking about it for now to keep it easier on myself I’ll probably stick to orks.
Nids sound fun but like you point out, hard to draw and complex story wise.
It had not occurred really to make them losing or wining but I think I was leaning to it being a harsh fight to colonize the area, so I will definitely go that route.
I’m currently loosing my mind learning about all the Tau culture I get my hands on, if you really want to boggle your mind go check out time conversion that is amazing the math these people pump out.
