Hey, I tought up some fluff for my marines, and I just wanted some opinions about the "could this really happen" stuff. Thanks!
They're called "The Fists Of Dorn" and a second or third founding chapter whose geneseed originates from the Imperial fists (I would have gone with these, but yellow is a bugger to paint and I couldnt work out any decent colour scheme for the crimson fists). like the crimson fists, they were the younger members of the chapter, but they didnt earn the same reputation as the c/fists. Their home planet (name unknown) was near to Ultramar and was hit by a small tendril of Hive Fleet Behemoth (These are the nids my mate collects). Weakened to the border of extinction, (the only survivors, then Captain Don Pedro, a handful of veterans and the the understrength 3rd and 6th companies) they could not warn the imperium of the new threat due to the hasty escape aboard a handful of ThunderHawk Gunships with limited communication.
After the Battle of Macragge, (when I first started collecting) The Fists reappeared and pledged to rid the alien menace from the galaxy. They hold strong ties with the deathwatch and send many veterans to serve with them. Captain Don Pedro became Chapter Master, the veterans the captains and the sixth company (that saw much front line fighting) became the 1st company of purely sternguards. Slowly, the Fists have rebuilt their chapters strength to full numbers.
I think that works fairly well. Using fluff based on what enemies you fight is good to develop your army. My Tyranids fluff has dealt with Dark angels because I have had numerous fights with them. I like that they have developed into alien-hunter types, it fits in well with their history. You could expand with an Inquisitor they deal with in the ordo xenos as they send lots of verterans to the Deathwatch.
What colour are they going to be? I understand yellow is a paint to paint and a yellow army sounds good but I have head that people who have painted one have not always liked it in the end, no everybody but some people. If not yellow or the Imperial fists colours. Are you going to use the same symbol as the other two fist chapters, there are lots of parts in GW and FW for them. A new chapter is always fun.

They are a sort of bluey grey which i achieve by dry brushing codex grey and then fortress grey over a chaos black basecoat. The shoulder pads are black. I thought I could use the imperial fists transfers.
Heres some fluff I wrote about the inuqisitor
The Fists link with the deathwatch lies with the Inquisitor Handro Loque, also devoted to the extermination of the Tyranids, after his home planet in Ultramar was ravaged by the same Hive Fleet; Behemoth. He only escaped due to the fact he was on the run with his father (who "foresaw" the invasion). Not the friendliest of characters, Loque has a fiery temper and little in the way of mercy (or humour) and is not easily pleased (your average Inquisitor, really). I mean, he killed his own father for leaving Tyran and "turning heretic" even though his life was spared.
