I have been creating a Nurgle army (2500+) and have been debating about the paint scheme, and really want to have something different than the regular Nurgle (greenish-purple). All of my models used are SM with a few Chaos bits thrown in and hours and hours of green stuff work (major Nurgle corruption).
So here is my question, I am thinking about painting them like a Black Templar army blending into the green stuff corruption with putrefied grayish green hues.
Are there any major hang ups about having Templars converted into Nurgle? and has there been any sort of battles or fluff written on it to help justify my case.
Bonus points: My friend plays Templars, so I know it would really bug him to see them corrupted as well.
In my mind it could make sense. Templars are organized into crusades, basically giant fleets. They probably spend a ton of time in the warp, which is where Mortarion was finally corrupted. The idea of a fleet getting lost in the warp and then converted to nurgle isn't too far fetched.
Yup, I agree with above.
Makes a great deal of sense
It would look really nasty and foul if done right, so good idea! I'd try and shade the black to goblin green on some areas but leave the majority of the model black. Some nice boils over the BT crosses and all.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
black templars are an aggresive chapter normally attacking rather than defending. They are also fanatics so if anyone was stupid enough to attack a daemon world ruled by a GUO then it would be them. Chances of contamination froma war like that, even factoring in the inquisitions tight checks would be high. (its also more exciting than "i got sick cos i was stuck in the warp"!!)

The Ancient Powers of Chaos, go where they please...
Dusk Phantoms - Chaos Space Marine Fluff!
Something else I thought of about Templar-Nurgle is they are fanatical. Templars typically cover themselves in purity seals and partchmnets to bang on about being holy. It would be appropriate to give them the evil-plague god version of this stuff.
