Might be better in the imperial guard section
Does anyone know the common ratio of tanks to infantry squads/platoons in an armoured company. I know in the british army in WW2 it was about 4 tank regiments to 2 rifle brigades.
Well, Armoured companies as far as I know are entirely of tanks (about 12-16 or so). Same as infantry companies are entirely of infantry (barring logisical support vehicles and the APC's if its a mechanised regiment) Usually the same sort of tank across a company.
At higher levels of organisation a Brigade would (usually, although it varies country to country) have three Armoured Battalions and one Infantry Battalion.
The amount of infantry fighting alongside them at company level would depend on circumstances.
The name refers to facial hair, not playing style.Originally Posted by A news vendor's stand, London, June 1940
