Yeah I have some ideas for some new chaos legions, also if you have any tell me because I want to read them. Any like regiments (Imperial Guard), legions (chaos), clanz (orks), chapters (space marines) etc.
My idea is of a race of alien beings from another material universe known as the balloonheads. They are balloon shaped giants who keep themselves afloat either through a large mixture of gases in their heads or through telekinetic abilities they have. They are a very powerful and intelligent race. They are powerful because of their psychic abilities they are born with giving them to ability to manipulate whole 5 acre landscapes with telekinesis or communicate with other races via telepathy. These abilities allow them to develop sophisticated technology which they used to travel across their universe.
They don't usually fight themselves but clone creatures gentically engineered with the traits that allow for fighting in certain environments. In their history one of their greatest physicists/philsophers/biologists discovered that their unique ability to manipulate energy comes from the Warp. This scientist was later named Uram came upon discovery of this strange non-material dimension and became twisted by the feral entities and in turn experienced a great change in personality. When he once worked to unlock the many secrets of the materium, discover what makes life and how it can be created and work to find spiritual life devoid of material things; he now works to find out how to use the energies of the Materium and Immaterium for destructive purposes and death of life for the pleasing of the chaos gods and find wealth of the warp (become a powerful presence within the warp).
This lead to a new religion within their culture, Uram had once came up with the concept 'Barangu tsen' which translates to 'Cosmic body'. A concept Uram came up with which means that all reality is a complex being constantly in a meditative state, the teachings of this religion were that there is no such thing as personal property and that everything should be shared and to avoid materialism as this strays you away from spiritual connection with this cosmic being.
This religion became dominant in this alien culture and made this race devoid of xenophobia and its once barbaric tendencies. However Urams corruption from the warp drove him to try and turn everyone to chaos and lead to him also turning against his own culture.
Uram managed to turn a small minority of his race to follow his cause, lead them to flee into the warp and teach them the powerful sorcery of chaos. It wasn't until 50 of their years (3000 in our universe) that Uram and his new army of daemons and sorcerers returned back to their universe from the Warp and wage a great civil war against his own race, despite their lack of sorcerers Uram's understanding of the materium and the immaterium (and the introduction of the enslavers into his dimension) allowed him to win the civil war and also figure out how to gain more and even greater abilities than before such as being able to initiate mass explosions, condense surrounding energy within a ball and destroy large sections of worlds and create deadly warp energy (lightning, doombolts etc.) and release upon them and create fires from many lightyears away and use them to burn the balloon and destroy most of their clone armies.
Uram and his chaos forces won the war and created a new Civilisation, they would then use the daemons summoned from the Warp and take over cloning operations and incorperate a new message to them, chaos is a cause to fight for. Although the downside of this war was that most of Urams race had been exterminated and he and a few hundred of his followers were the only members of his race left. The scientist who first discovered the Warp now named his followers the Vhiurxens which translates to 'Governors', this is because he incorporated the message to them that all they see belongs to them also leading them to now know him as Vhiurxen Uram which translates to 'Governor Daemon God' as he now had almost godly powers stronger than that of Greater Daemons.
What do you think of this idea. Anyway I have a heap of other ideas which I will explain later, anyway write down your ideas, I would like to read about them.
I had a semi-stolen idea for a race of incredibly long lived extra-dimensional slugs (with tentacles for fine manipulation).. They'd arisen around the same time as the Necrontyr and the Old Ones on a distant point on the galactic rim, but had been nearly wiped out during the enslaver plague and crossed dimensions in order to escape. The storyline was that they'd randomly popped through and taken over their former homeworld (now a human colony.)
They still had this profound racial paranoia about psychic species and mind control, so they had utterly subjugated the native population and any alien races they encountered and forced them to take drugs which dulled their psychic responses and made them enforcedly docile. Their armies were predominantly made up of human slaves equipped with low tech gear (like, the main anti-tank weapon was a reconverted mining tool and projectile weapons had replaced las weapons again) with a couple of other enslaved races and biomechanical drone-species. It was a pretty nice list actually.. Kind of a mixture of disposable pawns (conscripts with submachine guns, penal troops fitted with explosive collars) and more elite carapace armoured cyborgs with access to some of their masters technology.
Anyone who can guess the two sources gets a prize.. one should be very obvious.
My guss is ig and nids.nids maily for genstealer cults with the mind control/take over thing.plus the descrpiton of them make them sound like zoats.
for the emperor, for the great maw, blood for the blood god,
for the horned rat!!!!!

The other was the Ur Quan from the Star Control Series, who were a race of spacefaring centipedes who had endured a long period of slavery under the domination of a race of psychic autocrats, and remained completely scarred by it to the point of extreme xenophobia.
I have another idea, what about an Army consisting of aliens from minor races who have survived oppression from the other major races, minor alien races who have been warned of these races and renegades from the major races (renegade imperial guardsmen regiments).
The difference between these guys and the tau is that they don't compose of a main race and a couple of side ones, they are mostly minor alien species as a bulk of the army and are uniting to match the power of the imperium (mostly) and other major races for survival.
They work by scavenging technology, combining it with their own to add to the firepower and look to hire Renegades of the major races for the added firepower.
What do you think of this idea, is it stolen in any way? And don't say Tau if you think it is because they really aren't anything like the Tau.
My idea that I've toying with has always been fairly simple:
At the beginning of the Dark Age of Technology, an experimental Faster Than Light drive system malfunctions and sends a group of colonists far off-course to the Galactic SE. They set up shop and begin a slow, steady growth using their formidable tech and by embracing the emerging psyker population.
20,000 years later they're a massive, thriving empire on par with the pre-fall Eldar. Basically, the Golden Age that the Emperor claimed to want for humanity made real. Now imagine how they'd respond to some upstart group of techno-savages knocking on their door and "demanding" they convert...
My Guard regiment comes from the Centaurus arm (it's in the galactic NNE). They come from a quarrantined paradise planet called Ordonon, which is nominally under the control of the Ordo Malleus. The Imperial Battlefleet Centaurus is also located there. For some more detailed background and a story, follow the links in my sig. There's more to come, including Constantine's Revenge, This Aint Star Trek, Priests of the Machine, Just a Man and Return to Ordonon. There's also a possibility for more after that.
