I'll just put that there so everyone who doesn't want to get the game spoiled can avert their eyes. What's the deal with the Blood Ravens? Rumours of their gene-seed and such were common back in Dark Crusade, but I was checking out some YouTube vids the other day and this one guy commented:Now, I don't care much for the game just yet, because I have no money, however I don't mind it getting spoiled for me so - will someone please fill me in?They are FORMER chaos marines. They wanted to return to the rotting corpse on the golden throne for some reason and they destroyed their own records and all memory of what they were. Now they want the knowledge of what they were back
Is that true? And if so, elaborate if you please. I'm really interested.
so theyre former chaos marines and no one notices their taint and no one suspected anything when they just popped out of nowhere? and despite them having a closer relationship with the inquisition? doesnt seem right to me. the best rumours i heard was that they were founded using the Thousand Sons gene seed which wasnt tainted (back on terra in storage or w/e).
other more or less credible theories include them being splinter groups from Word Bearers/Thousand sons legions during Heresy...but then dunno....the loyalist deathguard marines who revealed horus treachery werent allowed to live were they?
just found this, mght be of interest to you:

Divine, Frank - thanks for the replies. I guess there's really not that much info except for speculation and what little THQ has given us on them. It's sad that there's no real confirmation about whether or not they were Chaos.
