Me and my mate were going on and on about how we could make a particular unit stronger by adding a rediculous amount of rare/powerful gear onto it..... sorta like turning a dreadnaught into a mini titan with steroids!
Any of you guys have similar overpowered fluff units? Does it have some kind of base that you kept building ontop of? Is it funny?
Well, although with new codices it's becoming increasingly difficult, yeah, there are a few ways to make about 300points miniatures. I particularly enjoy the Carnifex with all melee and defensive upgrades (yeah, including regen).
That said, if it's for fun, it's great, but if it's for semi-competitive play, don't even try it. It's not fun to have such a large investment of your points blown up by a lucky shot.
Man thats nothing compared to what my friend thought of!
He made the ultimate conversion of rough riders!
Instead of horses....they were bears
Not just any bears.....genetically modified bears
With rocket propelled power claws
We came up with even more cooky stuff but started laughing too hard!
Some guy had a space marine captain who had walked into the eye of terror and came back and who killed a C'tan.
In close combat.
That always stuck in my mind as the most overpowered character i ever saw.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
Movie Space Marines. Just one squad, which can take out 2000 pts worth of enemies and keep on chugging.
One game conversation of ours turned to looting the Emporer, painting him green and yellow just to see what would happen. I think we successfully broke the 40k universe.

A Kroot who joined the Grey Knights and became their Grand Master.
That one has stuck with me. Think about how double hard he must have been for the Grey Knigths not to have told him to jog on......
