Don't forget that the tau are wanting peace... and domination of the galaxy ofcourse, but hey do it not by totaly destroying their enemy's ( it's fun thoug )
but by allying with them and slowley take over their enemy's empire. So ofcourse tau can have any type of other units then tau in their army( except necrons eldar chaos and maybe orcs, but thats for you to decide), but not the other way around assthe tau don't need any help!!!!!!

WOHAHA

the more people to fight against, the more fun

Er, well probably for the same reasons that the imperium hasn't gotten around to wiping out the Tau itself yet.

Some problems just aren't that easy, and when you've got an Eye of terror or tyranid fleets knocking on your door, so problems have to get pushed under the rug.

Just to Finish this up you could only use both armies on table as one army if you had 2 detachments. So your going half to play at least a 3,500 point game. before you can take a second detachment you must have a full 2000 point detachment.

What Im saying in almost everygame you can not take them togther if thats what you are trying to do. But he is right even GW has talked about this guard units that live in TAU space.

Gue'la (ie, lowest form of life, aka, humans) have already been abandoned and been assimilated into the Tau Empire.. his army is just an expansion of this. Personally i think a IG army converted to look almost Tau-like would be awesome, and its unlikely that -just- infantry was assimilated into the Tau Empire but all the equipment that was left behind too, tanks, sentinals.. everything .
