well, how tuff do you think their armour is compared to our modern weaponry (iow, what would you have to do in order to render the Necron *BLANK* unrepairable) and WH40k weaponry, well obviously a power weapon... so whatcha think?
"I have come to destroy you"
Our modern weaponry? Wouldn't be very effective, unless you are using tank- or howitzer-calibre rounds. Since a Necron is all metal, we're talking about ten inches or so of solid metal. And not just steel, super-advanced alloys that can shrug off laser weaponry and explosive projectiles.
Necrons can't be rendered completely unrepairable (save maybe by being nuked into atoms or disintegrated somehow.) Blow them into a million pieces and they'll still phase out and reform later.. On the chance they fail to phase out, they can also repair themselves by just recombining the components.
It's called living metal for a reason..
Go watch Terminator.
Necrons are a combination of t-800 and t-1000.
You need to crush them in a giant piston, or give them a bath in lava or red hot molten steel.

I currently play:
Doom Eagle Space Marines
Hive Fleet Omega Tyranids
Goff Ork Boyz(dead)
Tau of O'me
Inquisitorial Xeno Hunters
and my attempted foray into fantasy
'Dark Angel Green' Dark Elves in need of fluff
In terms of game rules, they're no tougher than a space marine in power armour, so I'd say anything that can punch through marine armour can punch through a Necron. Granted, WBB makes it a lot harder to make them stay down, but the initial takedown wouldn't be impossible, and even if all you do is make the army phase out, well, a win is a win is a win.
I mean, you couldn't do it with a standard carbine or an ordinary shotgun, but armour-piercing rounds, an RPG, I bet they could take an arm off at least. Let's not forget, too, they are 90 percent robot, so EMP devices of some kind might work. Heck, a souped-up tazer MIGHT be enough to scramble some circuits. If you read about enough high-tech weapons (vehicle-mounted railguns, sonic weapons, they're out there), you'll find something in modern warfare that would at least give humans a fighting chance.
All else fails, try pipe bombs. Worked for Reese
SIMPLE! i unload a couple of clips of 5.62mm rounds into his midsection what would be the cosmetic damage if there would be any at all lol, look at this way i wouldnt expect us as people and humanity to be able to survive a necron invasion im just trying to get a feel for the toughness of them (necrons) so watcha think? that help'd some no? what do you think the Gau-8 Avenger would do? just google/youtube if im not speaking ur lagnuage
yeah i play necrons i know what living metal is and why its called that dont be an ass, but come on! you guys dont ever get curious about what i asked above? at all? i figured you guys would at least answer this nicely or maybe sincerely, thats why i did this on a FORUM...
i like this guy, anwers my question THOROUGHLY and NICELY with a humorous touch. thank you dude. btw, did you like T4 Salvation? i did
whats with the snotty attitudes and arrogant comments i always seem to get when i post a thread/question? i've seen terminator, and talk to me like im a human being dude, i mean, did i offend SOMEONE or anyone at all? plz tell me... everyone seems high strung with some exceptions of course
"I have come to destroy you"
I wouldn't take it too personally. I won't speak for the other posters, but I'm sure they were trying to do what I did, is all. I'm sure no one meant any offense.
No, I didn't see "Salvation" (that was the fourth?) but I saw the first three. I have to admit the third one didn't really do a lot for me, but the first two were very cool, and I have a hard time lining up my crons on the battlefield without thinking of those epic future battlefield shots from the movies with the metal, "unskinned" Terminators toting high-tech rifles across the smoldering wasteland. Good times!
