Something just occured to me, in the DoW2 trailer we see a furioso dread killing some Eldar.
In the BA codex it mentions the Blood Ravens, saying how because of the name they could be a BA successor chapter but they don't calim to be.
In DoW1 they say the have no record of their founding and in Dark Crusade there's a big thing about them fighting Imperial forces to keep something secret. (Something about the BA curse maybe?)
Most of us know that GW like to lay ground work for future projects by droping little hints like this well in advance. Are we going to see Blood Angel'ish Blood Ravens in DoW3?
Could we get deep striking Landraiders and Death Company in DoW3? Red Thirst and Black Rage causing the game characters to go nuts and start taring out the enemys throats with their teeth?
Yeah, I was thinking they might be planning to reveal the secret. A lot of times a story will have a secret as a plot device, it gives something to reveal later in the story.
This is just guess work though, the only things I have to base this on is the Furioso dread in the trailer, the mention in the BA codex and the fact that their history is a secret.
There's no reason for them to introduce Blood Angels when they have a perfectly well-formed chapter occupying centre stage already.
In Dawn of War and the sequel, all Dreadnoughts are functionally identical to Furiosos; they're armed with two close combat weapons until you upgrade one arm into a gun. It's just a game design choice. It doesn't mean that they're secretly Blood Angels. The name is literally the only thing that the two chapters have in common.

In the first one you just got standard dreads, the furioso pattern is something they added in the second game.In Dawn of War and the sequel, all Dreadnoughts are functionally identical to Furiosos
All this is just guess work but I'm wondering if it's a sigh of things to come, ya'know, first they introduce the furioso, then in one of the coming upgrades we get a stormraven, then in DoW3 we get some sanguinary guard ect ect...
Or it might not mean anything.
The thing that makes me think GW might be planning ahead is the entry in the BA codex, all this says is, because of the Blood Ravens name they sound like they could be related but they don't claim to be a successor chapter. Frankley, that entry seems a bit pointless, taking the time to point out that they have a name with the word blood in it?
Since they put that entry about the Necrons and the "Silent King" to lay the ground work for the coming Necron revamp, I'm wondering if the Blood Ravens entry is the same thing, otherwise that paragraph just seems pointless.
Again, I'm realy just guesing here.
