Been playing with this idea for a while, the idea of making a
Chaos sisters of battle army. I had a go at developing the back
Story and would like to see your views.
After attempting to crush a large psyker cult in the outer reaches
Of the empire it became obvious that many of the Sisters of the
Blessed blade had begun developing psykic skills.
The sisters withdrew from the battle to deal with this threat.
While abord their ship in orbit a warp anomily ripped the ship
From reality and deposited it in the realm of chaos. The sisters
Who had started showing signs of psykic power were purged but
Their doom was already settled. For the fateweaver stalked the ship
Filling the minds of the sisters with their worst fears, breaking their
The cannoness was approached by the emporor in this her most
Desperate time, he condemed her failer and the failer of her subordinates.
Raising a mighty blade he went to smite the kneeling figure but before
The blade struck the apperition disappeared. The greater deamon of
Tzeench had broken her mind and filled it with her fear of failer, offering
her an escape. To serve the lord Of change, to not hinder the chaotic change
in life but to let chaotic nature take Its course, as the cannoness and her
sisters pledged their allegence Their minds were opened and bodys changed.
Now the Sisters of the blessed blade serve their new master as the sisters
Of sorrow. It is said that in combat they weep for the memorys of their
Ordeal haunt them eternaly.
It was supprisingly hard for me to develop this back story as is quite
Obvious from its not so great quality. But all views are appretiated.

Fateweaver is the wrong daemon for the job, he's a paranoid oracle with other things on his mind.
A Keeper of Secrets - Q'tlahsi'issho'akshami - did try much the same thing once, by possessing a force of sisters on a daemonically infested planet (zombie sisters). Unfortunately for Q'tlahsi the fallen sisters gathered what free will they still possessed to raise an untained seraphim from death and imbue her with their collective energies to create a 'Daemonifuge'.
It's a good start to your fluff, I like it.
Just curious, are you planning to play with the chaos codex or model them to give them a chaosish look or just using normal models and SoB codex rules?
I had some difficulty desiding on a deamon that would have his hand
In this, I could only come up with three possable choices, fateweaver,
The changeling or a keeper of secrets.
I will have another look at it, try incorperate one of the other two. Do
You think sisters turning to chaos is a viable idea? I think it would make
A great force.
I plan to make a little project out of this ones I have the backstory ironed
Out. I think I am going to have a lot of fun, I have never built a chaos
Army haveing used two witch hunter armys I am unsure weather to use
CSM or WH rules for them, what's peoples opinions on that?
Or possibly just have an exceptionally ancient and powerful daemon prince do the job. This makes the fluff entirely yours.
The changeling is too minor a daemon. It might assume the place of a canoness and direct the sisters, but would not turn them. It's neither in the creature's nature or in this case it's capability to remain hidden amongst the sisters for long.
Keeper of secrets - has a proven (if ultimately self destructive) track record in this area, probably your best bet fluff wise.
Sisters are more of the 'possessed and forced to serve' type rather than the 'make a deal' type - if you read the first line of their special rules for instance "The Adepta Sororitas represent the epitome of faith and purity - witchcraft, heresy and mutation are anathama to them." Given the choice between daemonic servitude and death they would happily die.
Fear of failure is fear that they might fail the emperor, nothing else matters to them. Sisters often find fault in themselves for the smallest imagined transgression, to the point of willingly exiling themselves from the order and condemming themselves to death and absolution in the emperor's name. At the first sign of mass corruption you are going to have a ship full of chainsaw wielding emperor-praising repentia...
Fluff wise, there have been possessed sisters twice that I can think of off hand but there isn't much point of it outside of some grand plan like Q'tlahsi'issho'akshami's screaming cage. Sisters of battle are just human, well trained and occasionally augmented but even the better stormtrooper units are going to be superior in terms of raw capabilities (though the sisters are better equipped). Their power is in their faith.
One thing I had personally considered was playing black templars as a 'Sons of Malice' traitor force, replacing the neophytes with my spare sisters models (painted up in a suitable 'Daughters of Malice' colourscheme) and using the allied rules to bring in pure SoB units. For big games i'd have brought a saint/canoness and used the daemonhunters 'possession' upgrade on them (S10 blessed weapons are scary).
My initial test model didn't quite live up to expectations so i'm on the fence about it for now.
I think the idea of a previously unknown deamon prince would offer a nice
Oppertunity for fluff. Was working on one a little while ago actualy. And
As for the problem with the sisters o so fanatical faith, I think that once their
Minds were broken by their ultimate fears being forced on them and their
Minds bveing warped by the vast inteligance of a deamon prince, their faith
Would soon be lost.
As for modeling them I think I would use a mixture of space marine and my
Remaining sisters for the most part with deamonette heads. With some dark
Colour scheme and a few evil sigals and icons, it could work. I'll run some test
Models to see but overall I think it should have a nice effect.
I would take this a step further: the Sisters WERE given the choice and they all chose death, so the Tzzentchan prince gave their powered armor to his favored cultists and forbade them to mar the Ecclesiarchical symbols. What a deliciously traitorous force, 'Sisters' in full regalia who draw their miracles from the Liar God. Nobody would ever question the 'faith' of such imposters, and once they bring salvation from the forces of (other) Dark Gods they could share that 'faith'....Originally Posted by A.T.
After much thinking I have developed a few changes to my fluff.
Fateweaver has been swapped with a Tzeenchian deamon prince
From the herecy. This Mar ah haz was once a marine of imence psykic
Power. After falling from grace he pleased his patron (Tzeentch) who
Made him a prince. Enter Mar ah haz the thousand tongued, a deamon
Prince who when he speaks he speaks a thousand languages, his mind
Is filled with sinister intent and cunning.
while serving fateweaver he expanded his abilities tenfold until he chalenged
The two headed servent of Tzeentch and lost, being trapped in the warp to brood
While attemting to qwell the rebellion the sisters of the blessed blades psykic
Abilities were coaxed to the fore by the thousand tongueds wisperings through
His immence mind was strong enough to enhance the fears of the sisters
Once he had pulled them into the warp to shatter their minds, he twisted them
With spells learnt over millenia to magnify their psykic powers and bind them
Not too bad. Its coming along nicely.
