GW. In the 41st millenium, these letters together mean few things to few people, perhaps the initials of an acquaintence or the sounds spoken during one of the four trillion demonic summonings held on Tuesdays in Cadia... but to those who hold true knowledge, the GW insignia means only one thing...

    Space Marines.

Created from an unknown primarch who's initials were apparently GW, the GW Guardians serve many armies of many alignments. They've all but forgotten the Dark Eldar and seemingly find the Eldar to be repugnant. They worship the ground that Space Marines walk on, while spitting on the likes of the Imperial Guard, granting them little support and saving their full attention for their beloved super-human freaks. All other races, (with the exception of Chaos,) are looked upon with mediocre attention, sometimes good, sometimes bad, and sometimes all too giving, (such as the seeding swarm rules for Tyranids.)

And who was this GW, you may ask.... who was this primarch of mystery? No one truly knows, although it is said that he was a stout, short and bearded man of husky voice and ivory visage... (5 points to whoever names what that refers to. ^_^ )

The GW Guardians have but one mission: Help space marines as much as possible while still seemingly supporting the many other races of the universe. Now standing upon the pinnacle of their training, they have reached the Fourth Edition of their codex astartes, and will continue their onslaught with grace.... and undeniable favoritism.

Commisar Yarrick: "Tell it like it is, brother..... LOOK, GREEN STUFF, MUST BE ORKS!" *power-fists a tree*

You're all over the place with this one. Worshipping the Space Marines spitting on the Imperial Guard? They have a Primarch and worship Space Marines, do they worship themselves or other chapters? All other races are looked upon with mediocre attention, sometimes good? What does that mean, are they xeno allies?
Are they rebels or traitors? A stout, short and bearded man of husky voice and ivory visage, The White Dwarf? Is the GW Guardians a reference to Games-Workshop and an effort to imply that the company favors the Space Marines product line? Is this really army fluff or a Games-Workshop complaint?

Joeboma : wow... loosen that belt one strap and perhaps, just maybe, smile.

Babel: You are my new favorite thing on this site.*sorry wash-machine looking LO pop-up* that was beautiful. Just one of those things that feeds that secret appetite you harbor for GW, especially if you play a Xeno race. GOD i was grinning from ear-to-ear as i read this. Good work, and a great laugh. keep it up

You pretty much got it spot on, as we all know GW favors SM chapters. All the fluff is about them, their heroic deeds, their history, etc... Tell us about, say, what is going through the mind of a Tau Etheral as his men get cut to ribbons by Necrons!

    Obviously, GW are xenophobes.

PS: Joeboma, lighten up. It isnt fluff. Re-read it, and grasp every single detail, and revel in the pleasure of it all.

Sorry, it's just that I get tired of people (mostly my friends) complaining about the Space Marines being unfair or that G.W. favors them. I play S.M. so I guess I'm biased. I'm sure the G.W. main profit comes from the S.M. line of products. Without them I'd bet there would be no G.W. The more S.M. they sell the more money they can invest in new products like the INQUISITION, TAU and NECRONS. And I don't think that the rules favor them in any way. I'v had my rear kicked by my friends rebel I.G. and TAU plenty of times. Also I'd guess that the S.M. are an army that new players would probably get as a first army so they bring in a lot of new people to the hobby. So G.W. has an obligation to its stakeholders to push it's most succesful line of products the best it can. Again, sorry if I am being to serious but it kinda hit a nerve.

P.S. As I look back, it is pretty funny and I guess I'm kind of a nob for my rant.
    Good job Babel.

Hey now, I never said Space Marines were unbalanced or unfair. In fact, taking in their awesome ability, the 15-points-a-head way of the Space Marine is excellently balanced, as are their options. And yes, if GW didn't focus as much on SMs as they do, they would lose profits since most players are either Space Marines or Chaos Space Marines, (let's face it, Space Marines whup a whole lot of ass.) But yes, this was a bit of a joke on Games Workshop because my friend's constantly stated hatred for GW's favoritism, (he loves Imperial Guard, and only hates Space Marines because GW favors them oh-so-much.) The IG got the doctrine system, which my friend loved, but now SMs are getting a much cooler geneseed-system and, while my friend knows that's the best way to do it, he hates that GW seems to have said, "What, IG got something good and SMs don't have a better equivalent? We'll see about that!" (That's his opinion, not mine.)

So yeah, while they do see favoritism, I do realize why and I don't think they're unbalanced because of it. Facts are, however, that my Witch-Hunters will never have an Index Ecclesiarchy, and the new doctrines that come out in White Dwarfs do kinda suck, (Swamp Fighters? What non-IG player would want to play a game in that setting with all the penalties they'd suffer that their enemy would ignore?)

Aaaanyways, I'm glad some of you were entertained. ^_^

EDIT: On a side note, the true victims of GW ignoring them is any army that, even to this day, still have a "Second Edition: Revised" codex, such as Dark Eldar and I think Tyranids.

I find it funny, that nobody harbors more hatred, whether they admit it or not, for space marines than their only ally, IG players, haha. I would know.
