Hey Guys, here is the fluff for my new Chapter , the Vorpal Fangs!! hope someone reads this! Enjoy!! (ps im not the most talented wrighter but hey.)
Vorpal Fangs Space Marine Chapter.
The Vorpal Fangs were founded in the beginning of M35 from White Scars Gene stock ,The Vorpal Fangs were tasked with guardianship over the Garron Nebula in the Segmentum Tempestus, the Chapter fought against many large scale Ork incursions from within the Hell Stars as well as from beyond the Veiled region, they actively fought against the many Hrud Hives also found within that region, events early on in the chapters history would shape them in the future.
The Vorpal Fangs fought many long wars agains the Hrud who persistently launched invasions from the edge of the Veiled regions, large scale migrations occurred on frequent basis, sometimes less than 10 years apart, the Hrud always attacked in large numbers, If the Vorpal Fangs had drawn battle lines and tried to hold ground they would have quickly been over run, the Chapter adopted a style of mpbile warfare simialr to their parent chapter, constantly needling at the Hrud, the Fangs would assault, causing maximum damage and when the Hrud forces came to bear they would withdraw before they could be overwhelmed, only for a second force to assault from a different angle, by this method of constant misdirection and attrition the Vorpal Fangs caused more damage than many believed possible.
During M36 the Impirum was torn apart in the Age of Apostasy, the High Lord Vandire held the impiruim in a vice grip, seeking to control all, even the astartes, when Sebastian Thor a man many believed carried the will of the Emperor assembled his conclave of light the Vorpal Fangs were amongst the first to add forces, so it was that members of the Vorpal Fangs fought on the ground of Holy Terra, for the very soul of the Impirium.
The Chapter continued to fight against the Orks of the Hell Stars and Veiled region, Sebastian Thor crusaded across the impirium, bringing battle to heretics and apostates, the Vorpal Fangs often gave aid when he requested it, counting him as a friend of the chapter, when he died a squad of the 1st company was sent to act as members of his honour guard along side members of other devout chapters such as the black templars.
The Chapter continued to prove themselves as devout worshippers of the emperor, often sending forces to aid in crusades, building strong ties to the black templars, red templars and marines errant chapters, the Vorpal Fangs looked set to place themselves at the forefront of astartes, a rising star whose feverant example to all was a beacon of hope in the dark times of the redemption crusades, that is, until mid M37.
As the chapter fought in the redemption crusades members of the Night Lords Traitor legion had infiltrated the Hell Stars, with the chapter on such an active footing they went un notices, small forces with their ships drifting cold hid amongst the radioactive nebulae of the hell stars, there they gathered around a single asteroid.
This asteroid was a lost prison of a powerful daemon, placed there during the reign of the eldar and forgotten over the millennia, here the night lords worked, breaking the seals and wards until the daemon was free, with a cry of rage the hell stars name was justified.
Within a fort night the region of the Hell stars as cut off by warp storms, the dead rose from their graves and daemons ran free, the fortress monastery of the Vorpal Fangs was over run and many of their outlying bases were destroyed. However the Chapter wasn’t out of the fight,
For 62 years the Vorpal fangs fought a war of survival, their armour was dyed brown with crushed fauna, better to conceal themelfs from the enemy, never fans of gaudy tapestry, preferring to display faith through action rather than ostentation the chapter locked away is banners and the few ostentatious trinkets they owned, concealing them in their last fastness, a secured under sea armourium, where their stores of gene seed were also kept safe.
During those dark days, the Chapter turned to their once-neglected armored vehicles to compensate for their losses. Where once the Rhinos and Predators seemed only to slow the Vorpal Fangs' race from battle to battle, they were now the Chapter's only homes
The chapter sustained heavy losses over the years, un able to recoup their numbers , however with their hit and run tactics they made the legions of hell pay heavily.
It was in the 63rd year that salvation came when the warp storms finally abated, forces from the black templars launched a crusade accompanied by the 200 or so Vorpal Fangs who had been crusading along side them for such a time, thinking to avenge the loss of a chapter whom they held such close ties and avenge their brothers who they believed gone, yet when the war was over they were both surprised and overjoyed to find that nearly 4 full companies had survived.
The chapter was primarily defensive over the next few thousand years, striking in small numbers, always seeking to cause maximum damage at minimum cost, not for them glorious crusades and last stands, yet, by the close of M38 the Chapter was again at full strength.
In latter times the Chapter is engaged in hit and run attacks again Hive fleet Leviathan, The Vorpal Fangs saw the Hive Fleet's arrival as an opportunity to show what they'd learned since the Hrud. Through armored tactics, good planning and some near-miraculous coincidences, they struck down the Tyranids with an effectiveness far beyond their past accomplishments.
The Vorpal Fangs are successors of the White Scars, their gene seed remains reletively pure and free of mutation.
The Vorpal Fangs took the word of Arachtian VIII as their home world, located near the centre of segmentum tempersus this world was close enough to the Hell Stars nebulae and the veiled region to allow them to act upon any threats that emerged, as well as being relatively close to the astronomicon, meaning they are able to aid the wider impirium as needed
Arachtian VIII is a harsh world, vast areas of strange brown trees and vicious fauna, the vast wooded areas are broken up by areas of sharp jagged outcrops formed from dense iron and carbon and large areas of dusty plains.
Within the forests of Arachtian VIII live large Spider like creatures, patient and deadly hunters with venom potent enough to dissolve a man's innards in minutes, the tribes of the world are a hardy and feral folk, who must learn to fight as soon as they can walk if they wish to survive, the hostile environment worked to the chapters advantage during the night lords invasion and also proves to be a good recruiting ground.
The early days of the Chapter saw easy success against the Hrud, making them overconfident without their realizing it. They spurned the more cautious tactics of combined arms and fire support in their zeal for personally killing the witch, heretic and traitor. And so they eagerly assisted Sebastian Thor, yet never quite noticing the balance he kept between faith and war. When the Warp Storm trials hit, however, the Chapter's crushing defeats woke them to their pride. Against daemonic foes that could not be defeated with bolter and chainsword, only with faith, they found new strength in devotion to the God-Emperor and inspiration in Thor's character as well as his accomplishments. It was no longer enough to amass kills and bragging rights, for the Night Lords provided many obvious targets by which to ambush the confident.
The chapter has very little love for gaudy displays, seeing no need in the display of bright banners during battle and gold trimmings, its just more for the enemy to shoot at, banners and trophies belong in feast halls. The Vorpal Fangs believe that the best way they can show their faith is in action rather than words, with a bolter in hand brining death to the enemies of mankind.
This does not mean that the chapter disapproves of symbolic items such as the imperial aquila or honour markings, but these are usually made from carbon-steel and wrought iron with cheep metals such as gold or silver seen as humile or asetane, its worthy of note that whilst the chaplains of the Vorpal Fangs wear the rosarius (all be it dulled steel in colour) they do not wield the traditional crozius, instead many wield a functional mace, emphasising the chapters blunt and direct views.
The Vorpal Fangs favour a mobile way of warfare, initaialy mounted on bikes and speeders like their parent chapter the White Scars, yet this changed with the Chaos invasion of their home, adopting effective mecanized styles of war, Even after the victory over Chaos, the Vorpal Fangs kept their armored tactics. The slower pace of mechanized warfare gave them time to reflect upon the Emperor; the maintenance routines reminded them of patience and perspective.
The Fangs prefer to fight in this manner rather than static defences though the chapters history does bear stories of bastions held against the odds and of last stands in the face of hopelessness, yet these are few and far between, the Vorpal Fangs preferring to prowl and strike where the enemy is vulnerable.
It is worth note that the chapters tactics worked excellent alongside the more direct methods of the black templars whom they formed close ties with.
In the name of the Emperor and the Khan!!

I like it, but there is one detail I would like to change:
Instead of painting their honour badges grey/black have them make the actual honour badges out of cast iron (which is black) and high-carbon steel (which is dull grey). The difference is not big, but it somehow seems more Warhammer to have a cast iron laurel, than having iron laurel painted black. Also, using fairly cheap metals instead of gold, silver and platinum in their badges could be a sign of humility and ascetism.
Revenant Moon Necrons: (W/L/D) 0/1/0 (6th edition: 13/2/2)(5th edition: 14/6/4)(3rd edition Codex: 16/4/7)
XIX Legion: (W/L/D) 0/0/0 (5th edition: 14/12/2)(5th edition Codex: 4/3/0)
Black Legion: (W/L/D) 1/0/0 (6th edition: 2/3/0)
Something Wicked... Reikwald Beastmen: (W/L/D) 10/4/1
Good point well taken, fits with the terrain of the world, i can just change it from granite to iron and carbon, then they can make them from their own worlds materials.
Edit: change made, reading it back it does fit better. Thanks!

By Marine standards, mechanized formations are rather static. Tanks always need repair facilities, salvage teams, maintenance crews and so on. Power-armor based mobility like jump troops and bikes require much less infrastructure. The latter also fits better with the crusading culture of Chapters like Black Templars.
Also, it's odd that the Vorpal Fangs would prefer armored tactics if Arachtian VIII is heavily forested with broken terrain.
Here's an idea, and it will also play up the Vorpal Fangs' humility.
During those dark days, the Chapter turned to their once-neglected armored vehicles to compensate for their losses. Where once the Rhinos and Predators seemed only to slow the Vorpal Fangs' race from battle to battle, they were now the Chapter's only homes. Even after the victory over Chaos, the Vorpal Fangs kept their armored tactics. The Vorpal Fangs saw the Hive Fleet's arrival as an opportunity to show what they'd learned since the Hrud. Through armored tactics, good planning and some near-miraculous coincidences, they struck down the Tyranids with an effectiveness far beyond their past accomplishments.
This helps explain the preference for armor and ties the various campaigns together.

Pretty good! Are you going to create a special character as part of the fluff? You could even have a vehicle for a 'special character', one that's been around since the dark days of the Hell Stars.

I was thinking of useing the rules for korsharro, with his blade being a vorpal blade, one of 3 ainchent power blades owned by the chapter, in order to wield one you have to win the trials of the aracnid, 8 tests, open from the newest initiate to the most veteran brother, the final test being a last man standing duel between anyone who has made it that far, plus it gives outflank, fitting the theme!
