This is a story based on my small army i am playing with in a small local toruny. I hope you enjoy:

Brother Rexacus stared grimly at the battle maps scattered across the table. Advisors and other Veteran sergeants stood awaiting the Brother’s commands. They waited patiently as Brother Rexacus slouched over the maps, his hands planted firmly supporting his muscular body. His black eyes didn’t move. He was frozen in time. Thoughts dashed and raced through his head, but nothing would come out. He didn’t know how to defeat the great armies of Chaos that opposed the Emperor. Very little time was left to make a decision, an important decision at that . . .
Sources of Brother Rexacus reported heresy in the nearby encampment of Black Templars. How this could be he didn’t know, but his scouts all ways reported faithfully and truthfully. According to their report the patrolling scouts, went off course due to a loud disruption. The clanging of power weapons, and the ripples energy produced by the mighty swords erupted near the edge of the forest and caught their attention. They had crept forward through the thick forests of Banakash as quietly as possible. At the end of the tree line they watched, two great figures in marine armor, strike at one another in a duelist fashion. A Daemon Prince clashed against the Black Templar Chaplin. The outcome was certain. Yet for some reason there was a circle of marines both Chaos and Templar. They did nothing to aid their leaders in combat. It appeared an affaire d’honneur.
Brother Rexacus knew the Daemon Prince would be the victor, but he didn’t know what that meant. Would the Templar succumb to Chaos or would they fight it. He did not know. Communication with other off world companies was impossible on this mission. Brother Rexacus knew it was suicide, even with the Templars aid, but without he could not describe its pointlessness. But the Brother understood duty. The Duty to the Emperor. The Duty to Man.
“Brother we haven’t much time? said one of the sergeants surrounding the dimly lit room. “We must be quick either way. And if they have turned to the Chaotic Forces they must be eradicated at all costs.?
“I know? Said Brother Rexacus. He paused for another minute or so in calm thought. “Liquidate the camp, we will not be coming back here. Prepare for battle.?
The commanders slowly left the battle room to Brother Rexacus, and went outside. As soon as the door closed the camp was filled with movement. Marines ran to an fro preparing their weapons, preparing their armor, and praying to Sanguinius for strength and victory. Brother Rexacus still hunched over the maps motionless. His mind, however, was ablaze with thoughts. His training and battle experience had driven the council to have him lead this mission. He was being used as cannon fodder for the eventual eradication of Chaos, but he knew his duty. Above life and above hope there was duty. With a ***** of anxiety he stood up and readied his armor and weapons: a worn bolt pistol with one shot missing in the clip, a power mace that had lead so many death company into battle, and his power armor that had saved his life countless times.
He left the room suited also in his jump pack. He would not be mounted in a rhino for this battle. He needed to see the whole battle field, to understand it, to conquer it. When the door had been shut he turned around to see the ranks of the hardened marines. Helms many rows deep glimmered slightly despite their haggard appearance. A cloud of red stretched acrossed the abandoned camp. There was a certain spirit that filled the camp. It was as if the very spirit of Sanguinius was present to secure victory for the out numbered Blood Angels. There was no sound except the wind streaming past their faces. The sun was out, it was a beautiful day for death.
Slowly he descended the stairs to the hard ground below. His seramasteel boots clinked. His armor creaked. When he reached the bottom he paused looking down with a smile. A smile of complacence, of duty, of honor. He raised his slightly cackling power sword into the air and shouted, “For death, For Glory, FOR THE EMPEROR!? Hundreds of weapons rose into the air along with blood thirsty shouts. The cry was short but a small prair to Sanguinius followed. Then the were on the move.
Brother Rexacus lead the death company, which for an army this size was quite large. 10 veteran sergeants, whom were picked by Brother Rexacus himself, lead tactical and assault squads with the maximum capacity of units possible. All squads were armed with various other weapons such as meltas and plasma. Brother Amadreas, fortified in his iron sarcoughagus as a dreadnaught. Not just any dreadnaught, one of Moriar The Chosen. Out of all the misfortunes on this mission Brother Rexacus felt relieved to have a dreadnaught of Moriar on his side. Due to the unfavorable terrain and thickly wooded forests no tanks or land speeders were provided. This was a dangerous short coming for Brother Rexacus, but he had duty to preserve and preserve it he would.
His scouts provided information that the Templar Camp had also been liquidated, and that there were tracks from marching leading towards their former camp. These tracks were not very old either. It seemed as if the Templar were preparing an attack the way their marching formations appeared. Straight with precision.
Thoughts flickered through Brother Rexacus’ head at an impossible rate. His mind calculated all that there was to calculate about war. He made a decision.
“Turn around and prepare and ambush? he announced. The orders were followed quickly and within a short time their position was secured. They waited. They hid. They grew hungry for blood. The scouts returned at heaving for air despite their immense physical capabilities.
“Brother the Templar are coming down are tracks, they are hunting us.? said a scout.
“They have no chaos but the Daemon Prince with them. It seems that he has dominion over them.? Said another.
“Where is your Veteran, Brother Emanuel?? Rexacus questioned. The scouts looked at one another unable to produce and answer.
“We do not know Brother? One scout said, “He must be coming soon.?
Rexacus grinned sourly. It was but a small issue. He had a war to fight. While his mind focused on the events soon to pass, his eyes blazed with hatred for the heretic traitors. He sent out additional orders to his leaders and griped his weapons.
Within little time the Templar forces emerged into view. The Blood Angels had struck and struck hard. All at once the forest became a holocaust. Like an avalanche of razors and bullets the assault squads descended on the Templar troops. Bolters roared through the forest splintering trees and armor the same. The enemy armor was simply ripped from their bodies and after a second wave of fire their bodies from their evil souls. Stray bullets raked into the earth, creating fountains of earth as well as blood. The forest blossomed with carnage all in one instant. Blood floated in a lingering mist above the decimated Templar Squad. Those few left remaining in the squad violently thrashed as they were vanquished by yet another, round of fire. A second squad came into view and intended to flank a Blood Angels bolter squad. Moriar who an instant earlier seemed asleep charged forward with lightening speed toward the enemy ranks. His power weapons spun and thrashed with deadly efficacy. Moriar the Chosen went into a ferocious rampage. His uncontrollable power weapons grated against the enemy armor, tearing off limbs en masse. Rexacus lead his death company into the center of the oncoming Templar force. A roar of Templar bolter fire collided into the Death Company, yet they were undaunted in their charge. Not a single marine fell. The terror in the eyes of the Templar could be seen through their helms. They hit the Templar tactical squad with such terrific force that a wave of blood and entrails followed in the Death Company’s wake. Those who tried to flee died, cut down by a combination of crossfire and chain swords.
But not as expected, Templars came at the Blood Angels from all sides. It was as if the knew the ambush was there. Rexacus’ eyes flickered toward his scouts, who now were fighting against his Blood Angel marines. A surging rush of anger and lust for death hit him. His body wrenched with the severity of his rage. Screaming he charged into the flanking Templars. His bolt pistol along with the other Death Companies’ rattled with fury, their swords ripping through marine armor like and arrows through paper. The full of the Death Company severed the bodies of Templar, as well as their morale. But there was no escape for those who sided against the Emperor. Templar blood sloshed from their open veins onto the Death Company armor, making it no longer black, but a terrorizing blood red.
Moriar had now entered combat to the fullest. Moriar the Chosen was as brilliant a sight as a horrible one. He flayed the outer marines from the core, raking his way through the tactical squads. Blood filled screams erupted from his wrath. Moriar took several blows of plasma and melta to his hull yet the Brother fought onward and unshaken. The black craters in his armor were soon filled with Templar organs that were too mutilated to be recognized at all.
The tactical squads, who were provided firing support for Moriar and the Death Company, in due time joined in the marine melee. Bullets cut through the air shredding armor, raking bones to the core, and killing without mercy. Swords and power weapons crumpled metal, prying life from the hulking bodies. Many times the Templar attempted to counterattack the Blood Angels in their frenzy, but every time the Templar had to fall back to stall total massacre.
A force of on coming rhinos were literally tossed over, ripped apart, and smashed into the earth by Moriar the Choson who had just finished off a squad and was looking for more. Rivers of blood flooded the ground in his wake. Without heed he ripped apart the exploding engines of the Rhinos. Templar were either tossed by Moriar’s magnificent force or by the monstrous explosions of the rhinos. Those who survived, scrambled along the forest floor attempting to regroup, were either gunned down by Moriar’s storm bolter or turned into heaps of burning carnage by his framer. Despite the Blood Angels incessant extermination of the Templar, more of them flooded the forest and the battle grew hotter.
Brother Rexacus and the Death Company had lost many of their ranks but the rest, some of whos wounds would have killed normal men, fought onward. Slaying marine after marine they fought. The Death Company was like a searing lightning bolt that struck out at everything in its path. Quick and darting blows made the Death company and epicenter of total carnage. Blood circled around the Death Company as they moved, creating a trail of demise.
As the Blood angels slaughtered the Templar the Templar could not come back with much return force. They fought bravely, but that did not match the bravery of the Blood Angels, the bravery of duty. Despite their great losses to the Blood Angels their ranks were held solid by the Daemon Prince, who waded in ranks of the Blood angels killing all in his path. Squad after squad like Moriar he slew. His brilliant black blade soaked the earth in blood.
Brother Rexacus paused as did his remaining company with him. His eyes searched. The forest now ablaze lay in complete ruin. Heaps of bodies, mostly Templar, covered the ash laden earth. Moriar and several other tactical squads were mopping up the Templar and pursuing the fleeing. Shards of every sort lay scattered around the battle field. Shards of bone, shards of armor, shards of trees. Brother Rexacus’ face was drenched in the blood of the foe and the blood of his own self. His searching eyes found the Daemon Prince. The eyes of the enemy held a cold void filled with hateful heresy. For an instant he was frozen in time, their eyes linked together like the strongest of chains. A battle tougher than any Rexacus had fought began. A battle of will, of mental strength. He began to feel the evils of Chaos grasping at his mind, wooing and cajoling him into their realm. He felt himself lost in his enemies eyes. Transfixed, manipulated, and controlled. Rexacus felt himself slipping into the Chaos, he felt himself succumbing to the ultimate unorthodox of the Emperor. Rexacus began to transfix towards the Daemon Prince in allegiance. A small smile spread across the Daemon Prince’s face. However, as the Daemon Prince approached Rexacus’ mind was suddenly filled with visions. Visions of Sanguinius and his venture onto the Chaos ship. They pried at his mind like the powerful dreadnaughts of Moriar pry the life from all enemies. The grapple of the Chaos leader was thrown off; the Daemon Prince flinched at his counter attack. The smirk was wiped of his face, replaced my a savage scowl. Then suddenly, the Daemon Prince fled back ward at an impossible speed, his black cloak flowing with him.
By now the rest of the Templar were slaughtered, every last one. Brother Rexacus prepared to launch after the Daemon Prince but was halted by a commander.
“Brother we are victorious against the heretics.? said Brother Hivinas. “Over half of the Sergeants along with most of there marines, are dead. However, the rest of us are in near full strength and await your next command of duty.? Rexacus’ eyes returned to where the Daemon Prince had last been, but he was gone. He turned angrily to the commander and at the same time started down the path of his enemy.
“Fool! Assemble the troops, after the Daemon Prince!? He cried “BLOOD ANGELS ALL ATTACK!?
When the last of his words were landed grenades landed among the marines. Explosions erupted all around. The remaining trees burst in to shards. The marine armor protected many of the marines but others were not so fortunate. Veterans shouted orders to the marines as bolters began to fire upon the Blood Angels. The forces of Chaos emerged from amidst the smoke of the battle field, the Daemon Prince at the lead. Again their eyes met like iron fists and Rexacus’ kindling rage roared into an inferno.
“This battle is not over.? He shouted. “FOR THE EMPEROR AND DUTY!? He cried. He lifted himself up and threw himself into the mass of enemy Chaos marines. He threw himself into most certain death. He threw himself victory.

    Its good, very good.

A minor crit, would be to increase its readability by using paragraphs. It's slightly indigestable in one large wodge at the moment.

I'll add more to this later, as time is pressing right now. But well done ! Keep it up !

Why did Black Templars turn to Chaos? A Daemon Prince killed their chaplain but is that any reason to switch sides? Their geneseed is even more flawed than i thought

    *shifty eyes shify eyes*
haha, well this fiction is based off of one of my first victories w/ my BA army. So I decided to write this as a result of my total victory. The whole daemon prince thing and templar thing were kinda just off the top of my head. I don't read much fluff about anything except blood angels so thats why that error exsists. I mainly wrote it for the action and gore.

Thanks for the input though im glad you read it!

A quick change and to keep your story intact all you have to do is make the Templars under the power of some spell or mind control power. Other than that- the Blood Angel perspective, it is very good.

That sounds like a good plan nightshade. I think that the later encounter with the Daemon prince would also help reinforce that too. Great idea, i will put it into action as soon as possible.

When chaos marines are around the chaos godds speak threw them and turn the minds of the black templar around. how do you think the chaos legions were formed? ohh and as i am a blood angels player you forgot to mention the long prayer and the agonising changing of normal marines into the death company. Since the blood angels geneseed mutated and the implants went into overdrive they had to get a new sample for the gene seed but theere primarch was dead so they used his dead body for it. FOr that every blood angels marine has the memories of sangunises last hours as he fought hourus hearsay and brought him weak enough for the emporor to kill. Sanguinis was killed in the process. Before each battle the momories of sanguinis come back and some go crazy and belive they are sanguinis and themselves at the same time and they are put into the deathcompany and such... go to games workshop and look at there history of the chaptors. its very interesting. It would have been beter if it was the dark angels because the darkangels and blood angels are bitter rivals...

Aha! Another son of Sanguinius! Well done brother! As said before, you might wanna go into a bit more detail about how and why the Templar turned. It would take something pretty remarkable, Black Templar are famous for thier zeal. There are a few minor details and inconsistencies (like stating first that Rexacus carries a power maul, then having him raise a crackling power sword) but other then that it's alright. One question though, is Rexacus a Chaplain or Sanguinary Priest? It's pretty odd to have a Captain or some other leader type to lead a Death Company, but I guess it's not unheard of.
