Little update on the human lifespan section... Not that it's fully 100% GW fluff, but in Dark Heresy (which is GW approved at least), their is a Daemonhunter Inquistor nearing the end of a phenominally long life, and he's in his very late 200's approaching 300.

SO the default human bodies (non-chaos, non-marine, etc, just good medical care and naturally healthy), absolute, maximum extreme human life would appear to be the low 300's from that source. Which seems to jive with most other sources, and strongly fits in with the fact it would mean the AVERAGE Marine outlives by about 25-65% the EXTREMELY LONGEST lived human, and some rare chapters outlive it by 5x that amount, and some rare individuals of those rare chapters can hit 8x-9x.

Although again, the overwhelming majority of Marines die long before they'd ever die of old age... and I'd have to imagine if a Marine WAS nearing old age, he'd probably try and take bigger and bigger risk. I can't imagine culturally their is much pride in being a Marine who dies of old age. It just means you weren't fighting enough. What, do you not love the Emporer enough to die for him? What's wrong with you slacker!!! ;Y

High Priest Ardbrylidassian is equiped with The halbeard of lightening change, wratihbone armour ( gives the wearer an invunerable save equal to the the armour save) a 2+ invulnrable save is a bit ovwerpowered, only 1 thing gives a 2+ save and it only works until the model is wounded...and this guy is in an army who can cast fortune.. and carries haywire and melta bombs and a shriuken catapult bare in mind the only other eldar who carry melta bombs are fire dragons, also that no units in armour this heavy carry ANY grenades

The halbeard of lightening change was made by High Priest Ardbrylidassian and when it strikes the enemy its blade throws spikes while inside the body of the enemy sometimes peirceing the victums heart/s. and always hits on a 2+ and rerolls to wound and is considered as a witchblade when facing a Vehicle this seems fairly okay[/b]

Priests of Vaul are equiped with dreadnought close combat weapon, wraith bone armour (does not give invunerable save) and carries plasma and melta bombs and a shriuken catapults. dreadnaught close combat weapon...that ignores armour and +d6 armour pen?...why not just give them a power fist, makes more sense imo

special rules:
High Priest Ardbrylidassian is an independant character unless accompanied by vaul preists which have the same profile above but no invunerable saves and have dreadnought close combat weapons instead of healbeards of lightening change. if accompanied by 9 or less priest then they may be mounted on a wave serpent at 110 pts

High Priest Ardbrylidassian has no soul what?! i assumed he was like a wraithconstruct and animated by his souland is uneffected by psyker powers or abilites and is counted as fearless due to a high priest initiation ritual

[b] I'd just make them both fearless but would consider dropping the grenades really as they aren't appropiate to wraith constructs. Perhaps you should adjust them to being more CC-aspected wraithguard, and a farseer style wraithconstruct leader as i assume that is where you are going?

what do u think just say what needs to be changed or what else could be done to them
I think it could do with a bit of a reworking but the concept seems sound

Vaul priests are restricted to a maximum of 12

that looks ok to me at first glance brendan. By taking you character and the priests, you forfeit your ability to take any models in the Elite force organisational chart? Thats pretty effective at balancing anything.

I thought this guy needed updating : The Apex

since daemon prince's no longer have funky crazy choices.

Flesh of slaanesh: A suit of armour made from the skin of many keeper of secrets. Its ethereal power allows The Apex to pick up momentum to become almost unstoppable in a charge. When rolling for his run move, If the Apex rolls 4,5 or 6, he counts as fleet. If the apex rolls a 6 and makes it into combat, he receives +2 attacks for charging. At least 4” of the run move must be used to gain the advantage. If the fleet move brings the apex into 1” range of the enemy, Any enemy he makes it into B2B contact with when charging must take an initiative test or be unable to attack this round. If this happens, The apex only gains +1 attack.
Master sourcerer: The Apex has D3 psychic powers from the Daemon prince entry. It may not take nurgle or tzeentch only psychic powers.

Essentially half the size of other daemon princes's but faster and like a mini speeding bullet.
I think the fact that all "daemon princes" now have to have a huge daemonic stature is really sucky.

This is an interesting poll. I have to say that I have been trying to write a book about Blood Angels for quiet some time and have had some solid characters running through my head but with this advise I have many fresh ideas. thankx

Character name : Arianna 'red' Farflux

Character Background


Arianna when she was just a child her parents notices that she had hidden gifts as they frown at her gift she were special and yet cursed at the same time. Her parents discovers that she have a psyker power as their parents then decides to constant moving from one place or another to avoid the witch hunters and the feared black ship. Not wanting to lose their single precious daughter.

Once a witch hunter hunting party were close to their scent as they pick up her faint traces of psychic energies arriving at the same town as then within days seemingly the tyranid fleet drop out of warp as their parents and Arianna manages to escape during the evacuation and lost her pursuers. All data and records about them in the planet were lost as the planet was destroyed by exterminatus.

What connection Ariana had with the tyranid or her parents had with the tyranid remain a mystery. They constantly moving as it drain their coffers they had to live in slums. Then wars come to their doorsteps as they had no money left to bribe or purchase passage off the planet. Arianna then forcefully had to join the Imperial guardsmen as they see it was no way out of it. Due to the backwater status of the planet they didn't have extensive medical checking devices to test her DNA make up and do they have enough time to train the units as she was molded to join the conscript unit


Being weak and skimpy she barely made it fit to be in the conscript unit as she was weak physically she had a good aim better then the rest of the people she was stuck with. She met Commissar Hell thorn as the thundering voice of him always makes her shivers in fright much scared of Commissar then whatever it out there that they had to fight with.

After a few years serving with the unit Arianna already tasted the bitterness of the fight and take notices of the Commissar’s tactics and strategy. She was always a bright one even despite her apparent weak physical abilities. She memorizes the tactics as she hears first hand of how the Commissar lead the group of inept poorly trained farmers on how to win in battles as the Commissar didn't rely on instruction from the main Command platoon. She even memorizes few of his battle cry or battle pep talks.

During a particularly foggy day as they are assigned to guard a small ridge pass near the entrance toward an excavation site as they are told to stand their grounds. When hell break loose as they heard from just a far scouts screams back before their garbled bloody scream via the vox caster "Dark Eldar" as the two words shivers the entire person that hears it. The cruelest of all xeno life form as they already heard their reputable rumor of the race promising most grotesque painful death or worse if they capture you alive.

The Command platoon were firing blind due to the fog as the dark Eldar as already experienced in stealth and somehow they are able to compensate the foggy almost blinding fog. Navigating through the trenches and evading the mines that have been set up.

Only minutes as the battle started the command squad are already lost seemingly the dark Eldar targeted the top head first as they want to instill panic and chaos upon the rest of the units. Few of the Imperial guardsmen’s that try to flee wind up stepping on their own mines or meet up with their feared opponents and their screams can be heard half across the battlefield.

On the next trenches as the sergeant was killed during a Dark Eldar attack Commissar Hell thorn decides to leave the conscript group first to take command of the squad with heavy bolter. Before Commissar Hell thorn left he says toward Arianna and the rest of the Conscript "Don't worry, I just be over there all you need to do was sit tight keeps your head low chin up and fire away at anything that moves" Then the Commissar departed into the thick depth of the fog as it was only a few meters away at times they could see the next trench.

Shivering to herself as she and the rest of the conscript were at nervous breakdown as the Dark Eldar toys with them killing off one at a time. Or swoops down with their bikes and nabs one of them at a time. During this desperate time her latent psychic power were forcefully activated by closing her eyes she could feel the traces of the faint mind pattern of those nearby and felt the dark vibes of the dark Eldar mind as she then direct the squad's fire at the foggy bloody battlefield. Faint sounds of the Commissar could be heard within the vicinity as well as the sounds of the thundering heavy bolter shriek through the cold foggy bloody night.

They managed to stand their grounds till reinforcements arrive, Karskin Elite troopers dropping off from the valkryie transports as they receive their S.O.S. Although they are more concern with the archeological dig site then saving a few guardsmen. Nonetheless help arrive and Dark Eldar seemingly just bored and left.

They cheered happily after the accomplished what seemingly impossible amidst all odds. As they inspect the now clearing fog as they notices that all seems quiet on the next trench. The survivors of the Conscript unit and Arianna inspect the next trench as they notices that it was a plain butchery. Most of them throw up and vomit but Arianna only stood there as she only laughed all others think of her have gone insane but infact due to the her sudden 'awakening' of her latent physic power now tainted with 'dark' she now becomes more grim and darker person.

The high command seemingly all have under man powered lacking reinforcement and decent officers they then promote Arianna to the rank of Lieutenant, however she was denied the privilege of commanding an Imperial standard squads and only can command conscript unit.

After she received her promotion she then was shipped out of the planet as she was just about to board her vessel along with her unit she saw the feared black ship once again descended upon the star port. As she watched it with fear. Hearing the faint howling screams of the psyker. Hurriedly boarding the transport vessel off toward yet another far off distant frontline where anywhere is better then getting caught be the feared witch hunters.



Physical apperance :


Tall, slim 180 cm, almost unfitting to be seen amidst the battlefield, Refuse to wear heavy bulky armor, Red long flowing hair with big blue eyes, Her face shows nothing but coldness of her heart. She wear a hair band that helps her focus on the battlefield it was nothing special just that it was something her parents give her during her last time they met. Due to her very weak physical state she hold her Bolt Pistol with both arms. But she had better chance of hitting because of that.


Wargear :
Head band (Trademark) , Bolt pistol (Treat this as a 2 handed weapon)


Special Rules :


Conscript Commander : Arriana can only be attached to a conscript unit.


Independent character : Lieutenant Arriana is an independent character.


Headband : Allow her or the unit she attached to re-roll test that require leadership.


Phsycic targeting : Units of the Imperial guards (All infantry units excepts vehicles) within 6' of her will have a better targeting when firing at incoming targets due to her guidance. Add + 1 to hit resolutions of any firing that takes place at least within 6" of her (Treat as if the unit have managed to score one more hit).
Phsycic eye : She have innert abilities to see things far then others can see.. treat this as a surveyor.

Illegal Pskers : Lieutenant Arriana can't be used with witch hunter inducted army or with grey knights as she is an illegal psyker.


Crazy : Don't know if it is the whispers of the warp that she faintly hears within her head due to her gift, or perhaps due to the shock of losing someone she thought so close as a father figure (Kommissar Hell Thorn) but one can't know as she sometimes ducks or takes cover always at the nick of time. Treat her save as a 5+ invulnerable save.

rociel, never give a model a score of 1 for anything but initiative.

The background is technically sound. i say technically, because a physically weak, highly accurate person is suspicious. add that to dodging bullets and you got yourself an obvious psyker. you needn't be a witch hunter, only a commisar (who can smell anything heretic from 50 yards away) or a sanctioned psyker.

I'd put forwards the suggestion of making her an upgrade character. in 5th, such characters cannot be singled out in close combat. also, it makes no difference if she has a two handed weapon since she doesnt have a close combat weapon to connect it with. either way... 85 points for that? thats another squad of troopers, which is far better than that single char. i know it says believeable special chars, but that doesnt mean they have to suck.

Thank you for reading and inspecting my character ideas. Can you explain to me what you mean by upgrade character ? Well, the relative other weak stat as I try to balance out I guess I went overboard on that one. For the two handed weapon I mean that her other hand is occupied not being able to use her other free hand.

upgrade character = "one conscript may be upgraded to arriana for x points"

let me explain. In a close combat, i would be able to go into b2b and wipe her out with a single attack if she is an independant character. as an upgrade character, she wouldnt be singled out for being in b2b.

the comment of two handed weapons is really pointless. she doesnt have an extra cc weapon or pistol so it being 2 handed makes no difference. at all. since she cant be equipped with any other weapons or gear, stating it 2 handed is useless.

Okay, Revamping the character going to post the changes so not to copy pasted it all

Lieutenant Arianna 'red' Farflux

Wargear :

Character : Lieutenant Arrianna 'red' Starflux is an upgrade character, upgrade one of the conscript within the conscript platoon for 30 points.Arriana doesn't have access to an Imperial guard armory even though she is an officer thus she can't purchase additional items from the armory other then she was already equipped with.

Note :

About the background I am unable to revamped for the current time as I need to do a bit more reading and researching about the matter.

Just that if I put the limitations of the not being able to put in the psykers, and Komissar (And probably priests as well ) I don't think anyone would want to take her as an upgrade toward the Conscript platoon though. Thus I only limit it to inducted witch hunter army if her upgrade is taken.

Changing her gun to a Mastercrafted Bolt pistol as that could logically perhaps explain why such a big gun can be wielded by a person of her strength and be so accurate. The gun could have been fine tuned to be lighter, less recoil and more accurate.

And I put her before as an independent character as so that she could have the wargear and her specific abilities. I don't know if I can put that as an upgrade character.
