Rep Power: 64 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Okay well heres a run down of one of my Charchters Who's name i use to post on this forum. Mikhail The Hertic: Force Commander with Lightning Claw M/C plasma Pistol Iron Halo Bionics Purity Seals Frag grenades Melta bombs Adamantine Mantle teleport homer and Artificer Armour. (fluff wise the Bionics A mantle and iron halo count as something else but this makes him nice and legal) Background: Mikhail the Heretics background is very difficult to find out very few reports exist for the Chapter Master of the Golden Fury Space Marine Chapter what little information that does exist hints strongly to a link with the Inquisition it's also belived that he was one of the original founding marines for the Chapter (in fact some of the rumors indicate that he is the first Chapter Master). It's also unknown where the title heretic came in as the chapter is not Excommmicated although it's belived to have been given to him by a cardinal of the ecclisarchy (working on a story for this). However what is not in doubt is his dedication to the protection of the imperium there after action reports showing that his marines have engaged all manor of Foes although ther does seem to be more common for them to fight the forces of chaos. In fact from what we can gather there seems to be a strong hatred between themselves and the black legion. In fact there are several reports of them taking on sucidal odds (even for a space marine) rather than retreating. |

I see your point. Yet if the history is sufficiently unimportant to the main storyline, doesn't it just add to the originality and depth of a character? Also, you could make your own chapter, then you could do what the hell ever you felt like. I mean, it's your choice of history, nobody can stop you as long as you stick to the confirmed story. Besides, even if they were part of that history, it doesn't make them that important. For example, Supreme Grand Master Commander Azrael, Keeper of the Truth, although an extremely accomplished chapter master, has no real affect on the chapter (not that I'm trying to denounce him). Also, Veteran Sergeant Naaman just won a few battles in the Piscina IV campaign. So long as he/she is not a 21st lost primarch, I don't see a problem.

I have made many IG characters: A Last Chancer style squad that can hijack vehicles, led by a dude with a chainaxe; A Sanctioned Psyker with real combat ability,a psyhammer, and a cool psychic attack; A human that is somewhat like a toned-down Eversor Assassin with a double chainsword; A special ops type with throwing axes, a sniper rifle and sniper uzi, and night vision goggles; A female heroine (yeah, yeah, say what you will, you gutterheads) with a hellgun-flamer, powerscythe, and grappling hook; Right now I am working on a combination psyker and techpriest (if this is heretical so be it, he'll be a heretic) and a Chaos Lord. Not to mention various units such as helicopters, heavy sentinels, and others, and my soon-to-be-converted alien mercenaries that resemble Nerubians (from Warcraft III) with guns. Go to town on it! One thing, though: there needs to be a unit-maker, like VDR with characters and units, with points costs standardized. I know we cannot do this, due to copyrights, but if we all begged and pleaded, perhaps such a thing would come in a WD, replacing yet another SM and/or OK article, saving us another howl of fury as we see the whole of our game usurped by a single races' fluff.

Is it legally possible to make your own kind of army. The point method could be similar to the hero weapon method from earlier, where you take abilities and such from other units and splice them with something else to get your own custom unit, or is this not legal because its really kind of hard to make an exact point calculation for each unit if you only take certain atribsutes from certain guys. Right now i've got a ton of heavily converted guys, but I just give them the stats of legal units like ranger and wraithlord ect.

annoyingly, thanks to the new space marine rules, my librarian is going to be a hefty points cost (as special characters go anyways). im also making a force commander character, chaplain character and a few veteran sergeant characters. might post them up if anyone actually wants to see 'em and making your own units is iffy...because you obviously cant really tell what points cost is really fair...plus they may be unbalanced in rules as well as points cost, or un-fluffy...best just sticking to characters

ahh owell, it all works out for the best anyways. GW already balanced out the units anyways, why would i want to do that? guess ill just stick to my primarch Dreadnought pycher, god, necron, Tech priest, and super model who welds the sword of horrible horrible cheap doom and just happens to have a copy of the emporers chair |

About number one, they would be most definately welcome renegades back. Then later that night they would get their welcome back gift, which would involve a hammer and a bit of brain damage.
