Honourable commanders, this is Colonel Frederick Raskin of the Nirdam 21st Mobile Infantry.I hope this trasmission reaches you,as it seems my others were...misplaced somehow. As you know it's only been a few weeks since our forces arrived here in the Darian sector to assist forces from the Umojan sector in eradicating the cult uprising that plagues this system.Since the begining of this campaign sseveral..disturbing details have come to my attention, and I hope to bring your attention to them as well.
To start, it seems the organisation behind the uprising is a cult called the "Daughters of the Night" a sect that appears to worship the Chaos god Slaanesh. This cult is somewhat unique in that the higher ranking members are all female. This and many other details that where later brought to my attention lead me to believe this cult is somehow connected to the local convent of the Adeptus Sororitas, however any investigations into this connection have been halted by the Inquisitorial agents attached to the campaign.
Our chief allies in the struggle to free this sector from the taint of chaos have been the Broken Wings chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, the forces of Inquisitor Lord Jeal Veritte, and 3 detachments of the Umojan Imperial Guard, including the Berthen 113th,the Harnellan 71st Drop Troops, and the Zoshonel "Iron Hammers".
Despite being invaluable to the victories we have gained so far, I am rather disturbed by the secretave and suspicious behaviour of the forces native to Umoja.
Quite frequently there have been instances where Umojan forces refuse to assist or share information with the forces not from thier native system. They all seem to work together quite well, but when placed on the field beside our own Nirdamese forces, some degree of battefield effectiveness is lost, and inter-force communications is minimal at best.
Also of great concern are the rumours that have been circulating among out own Nirdamese forces. Our troops have becgun to speak of armoured angels that lurk in the darkness of the Hive Spires, mighty winged monsters that skulk in the shadows and descend upon the enemy like birds of prey. While this is undoubtedly a blessing in terms of winning battles, I can' help but feel this is somehow connected to the Broken Wings forces that are dispatched here,as rumours of mutation in there ranks are already wide spread.
Also of note are the strange practices the Umojan forces engage on the field of battle.Frequently we are confronted by battlefields littered with the crucified bodies of the enemy, and one more then one occasion we have found the enemy casualties to have been mutilated in one way or another.
One of my soldiers reported to me earlier that he saw one of the marines corner a women from the chaos cult in one of the lower hab buildings. He said he saw the marine close in on the woman, but instead of shooting her and killing her outright, the marine hesitated. According to my man,the woman stood frozen in fear for a long moment, before suddenly the marine rushed foward and grabbed her. The soldier claims that, as he watched in horror, the marine bit into the woman's neck and proceded to drain her blood untill finnaly her body convulsed and died!
All attempts to speak with the Astartes in this and other matters have been met with a dismissive attitude and downright rudeness in some cases. The forces of Lord Veritte have not been much more helpful. I would think that a member of the Ordo Hereticus would be very interested to hear of these appearent deviances within the chapter, but when I adressed the issue with him, he merely stated that the Broken Wings where valued allies and assured me that he could personaly guarantee thier purity and devotion to the Emporer. While it is my duty to accept and respect this answer,a part of me can't help but doubt wether the Inquisitor's opinion of the marines isn't a bit biased.
I submit this report in hopes than an investigation might be launched into the forces of Umoja.Although thier involvment in this crusade has been one of the determining factors in our voctories, and we could ill afford to lose thier support, I feel I would not be doing my duty unless I brought these deviancies to light. I feel..

**Note: Colonel Raskin was later apprehended under the order of Inquisitor Lord Jeal Verrite. After a lenghtly absence from the field of battle, Captain Raskin was returned to active duty, and rejoined the forces engaged in the Darian Campaign. His superiors never learned of this report.
Pretty interesting, maybe you should write some more to keep that thing going. I like it.
Back from a long adventure.
Thanks. I've been thinking about adding to it..can't think if how though. I eventualy plan on creating a whole campaign with all kinds of fluff nuggets like this in it.
It seems well written, although it could do with a little spell checking. I advise writing in a word processor (such as Microsoft Office or a similar program) and then copy / pasting into an actual post. On the off-chance that the post gets lost somehow, you'll have the backup right there on your hard drive, and most word processors let you know if something gets messed up along the way.
Maybe you could write about the capture of the Colonel (or should I say Captain)? That would make an interesting continuation.
