Orellian 1st, the first raised regiment from the city planet Orellia, home of House Orell, ready to kick ass for the Emperor!
Home in the streets, these fighters possess the skills to either go head to head with perps using their riot-guns and shields (Close order drill), or to sneak up from behind them or jump straight ontop of their heads(Light infantry and Drop Troops).
Their ability to call in specialised units enables them to breach and clear just about any building held by the enemy (Stormtroopers).
Though a rowdy bunch, the Orellian 1st is definately not a penal regiment, the members' behaviour kept in check by the nobles of the House Orell (Iron Discipline) or Commissars.
Of course, despite the specialties, the Orellian 1st still has APC and tanks to deal with the larger picture, realizing that they might very well face more than just cultists. Currently outfitted with a Sentinel for scouting, an APC for the command platoon and a Demolisher for blasting through really big things, the regiment is waiting for extra parts to fix up more vehicles.
This regiment is best suited for urban engagements, be it defense or offense.
The Orellian colour scheme is completely the same for all units, apart from minour differences. Scheme is as follows: Main colour is codex grey, and secondary is shadow grey. Helmet and armour remain black, while fatigues are codex and the shoulderpads and camo stripes are shadow.
Here's a little piece of fluff for my first WH army. Just wanted to know what you guys think!
I like your post
how you stated the Doctrines with the little background
but just this one thing
Droptroopers in Urban areas?
isn't it like very dangerous to deepstrike next to terrain? (I'm quite a 40K noob )
This works very well, but as Imladrik said, urban drop-troopers are an awkward concept. Maybe use Independent Commissars, as you've said they have a presence?
And the details about the armour need to be expanded... you're thinking along the lines of a platoon, rather than a regiment. Regiments have lots more armoured vehicles than just one sentinel and one demolisher. Maybe change it to suggest that because of the nature of the Orellian 1st's specialities the regiment has a prediliction towards those vehicles.
Don't go into that much detail about their colour scheme either; it's nice to visualise it with the exact colours, but for fluff purposes the phrase "grey on grey urban camoflage" would work better.
Stick in some circumstances and history too. Why was the regiment founded? Whereabouts is Orellia (check here for some basic galactic locations)? What are their most hated foes? Why? Have there been subsequent foundings from Orellia? Small things, but they add a lot of depth.
It's very cool. Most of my problems are stylistic. For one, I hate the word 'perp', it reminds me of bad American copshows from the deep south.
'This perp has just been pulled over for driving while under the influence of excessive skin pigmentation.'
You get the picture.
Anyway, everything is very well explained for an urban regiment, though I'm not so sure about light infantry and stormtroopers together. Stormtroopers are pretty heavy, and while they're not 'guard infantry' anyway, their presence does indicate a willingness to use heavily equipped dudes.
Also, I agree with the other guys. Drop troops on an urban world could go badly wrong.
HA!! You must be talking about the LAPD! or um the NYPD, or Chicago PD, or Georiga's, louisana's,Texas, ah dirt too many to mention.
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)
Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces
The Drop-Troops could be used to cut off any entry or exit to the specified Urban area, making it hard to attack the Orellians from the rear. Because they drop troops in to encircle the city, then let there more specific troops "cleanse" the urban environment.

Well, the Drop Troops doctrine symbolizes the rappel actions some police forces undertake. I'm talking about SWAT and others.
Light infantry I put in because, as long as they are in a city, their stealth is unsurpassable (is that a word?). Of course, sniper rifles are neat anyway.
I could always edit a few doctrines. I could change Drop Troops to Sharpshooters. Fluffwise it'd be this:
All of the soldiers in the Orellian 1st have extensive knowledge of their weapons. Their forefathers, the real policemen, had always been training and honing their weapon skills. This rubbed off on their progeny, and now that they're in the army, the extensive knowledge combined with the tough training for the army, made the Orellians even more lethal with basic lasguns.
Anyone like? ^^
