Okay, I know the mechanical effects, and I know how they are represented on models (those little wax stamps) but what exactly is a purity seal, and how does one earn them? I believe from what I've read that they're badges of faith. I think I also read somewhere that a purity seal often incorporates having a special treatment put on your armour, but I may be wrong. Are they just medals for faith, basically? |

everytime a spacemarine comes into contact with a tainted enemy he must then pass through phycic de-contamination if the the Librarians of the Chapter deem him un-corrupted he is given a purity seal this is why Grey Knights are covered in the things |

Cool. That pretty much explains it. Presumably, when they're given to inquisitorial stormtroopers, SoB or IG priests they mean something similar, though obviously with something else replacing the librarians? |
