Hey everyone, my name is new but i used to be cypherthefallen, anywho i was wondering does anyone know where to find the stats fora rogue trader, i work at a game store in my town and i remember a long time ago seeing the stats for one, they are somewhere between a space marine and a guardsman, I'm in the middle of trying to organize a megabattle involving them with this really cool story involving a piece of necron tech that (insert cool rogue trader name here)picked up on a dead world, he makes it all the way to armageddion to refuel and a fleet of tomb ships end up showing up in the armageddion sector. eventually this is going to lead to a big fight on armageddion, involving the necrons and some adepts mechanus , also my knowledge on rogue trader fluff is a little iffy they r one of the few things that i know very little about as far as 40k fluff goes, so any fluff u can provide on them would be nice, that and the stats of one of em, thanks a bunch.
Rules wise there haven't been stats for Rogue Traders since, ahem, Rogue Trader.
Just use the Inquisitor entry from Daemon or Witch Hunters, minus the Daemon/Psyker specific wargear.
Also, if you are a previous member, you should know better than to post an eleven line sentence with poor spelling (itself acceptable) and netspeak.
EDIT: I may be wrong here, but the Rogue Trader character propably was just a Codex Legal Inquisitor with a different name.

OK i cant spell, and secondly does it really matter how gramaticly correct my post is so long as someone can read it? Thanks for the info but i know that there are 3rd editon rules for a rogue trader because i have seen them, i just dont remember them. If I remember correctly they were printed for a mega-battle a while back, they do that sometimes. Auctally some of my favorite specal charecters come from a mega-battle print. Ever hear of Krauss The Skull Taker, he strikes at initiative 5 with powerfists.Originally Posted by Corianis

You may not be able to spell, but your computer can.
Yes it does matter how well written a post is. Not because I am a language purist, but because it took me 4 read throughs to sort out the question you were actually asking from a lot of irrelevant detail which seemed to have been added purely to sound "cool".
As for RT stats specifically for 3rd Edition, I think you are mistaken. I am trying not to be arrogant, but if something that major had come out I and a lot of other members here would know about it.
Chill out man jeez, your defanatly being overly critical on something so silly as spelling and gramatical errors. Also i think your wrong on how said stats would be widly known, because it was something released for a mega battle, games workshop sometimes holds these cool big games, sends out sheets of paper with the guide lines for a game, along with some bits and sheets of paper with character stats. The games are normally a one shot thing but the characters r cool. Another thing dont you think seein as this is a fluff forum that someone would have posted something wanting to know more about said specal charecters if information on them is widly known. Anyway like i said man you need to relax take a chill pill and play some hammer, its just a game and all i asked was a simple question. Just in case anyone is reading this i just want to restate my question "Does anyone know where i can find the stats of a 3rd edition rogue trader?"Originally Posted by Corianis
Actually Cerverus I believe strongly in well worded posts myself, it makes reading a post a lot easier, though I have been known to post the odd bit of nonsense myself, it makes people a lot more willing to help if they can read a request without having to concentrate on it.
Anyway, as for your request, I don't know of any stats for a Rogue Trader, but I think Corianis' stripped-down Inquisitor idea has merit. As for fluff, you could try reading Legacy, a book from the Black Library which revolves around posession of a Rogue Trader's charter, and has quite a lot of background on the Rogue Traders and how they operate.
Well, you can't. It's quite simple. And although we do try so hard not to be uptight, we would appreciate it if you tried and made your posts a little clearer.
As for his actual stats, just use an Inquisitor's. They're made from the same mould. Fluff is basically as such: Person gets ahold of the legendary Imperial Writs that contain a drop of the Emperor's blood along with his seal. This gives them the right to trade anywhere with [anyone. This means wealth, power and prestige. As such, Rogue Trades command a certain position of authority, although most of that authority is heriditary since the Writs are passed down from son to son over ten thousand years. Rogue Traders are traditionally crazy fellows, from pirates to merchants to colonists. Like Inquisitors without the whole find-the-heretics mumbo-jumbo.
I5 with powerfists...? Either that's an old rule or it's quite insane.
Another possibility is the Imperial Guard High Commander from a recent WD. He would make a good rogue trader complete with wierd bodyguard.
