Well, considering that this is my first ever topic on LO, I decided to make something that I felt was important, fluffologically speaking, of course.

    Eldrad Ulthuan is dead!

After buying this months WD, and reading the outcome of the Eye of Terror Campaign, I read about what happened to each of the major characters involved in the campaign.

Now I think Eldrad Ulthuan is the only major character to have died.

While attempting to storm a Blackstone Fortress (Talisman of Vaul), to prevent it from destroying the planet below, Eldrad and his team systematically had their spirits ripped from their bodies. The warped essence cracked their spirit stones and their spirits are now in eternal agony with Slannesh, however Eldrad touched the essence of the Talisman itself, realising it was a mistake after he had done so. The essence ripped his spirit away from his body leaving nothing but a husk behind. So Eldrad is stuck in eternal agony, not with Slannesh, but trapped inside the twisted Blackstone Fortress!

"and his soul was dragged, screaming, into the depthles heart of the Blackstone Fortres for all eternity."

Now, there are 2 possibilites from this:

A special character will be reborn, as a certain planet (I forget it's name and the characters name, I believe it could be Teklis, the really high sorceror dude).

The Blackstone fortress' power will be boosted beyond imagining. The psychic power of Eldrad Ulthuran giving it the power to possibly go straight through a planet.

Let it be known however, this months White Dwarf, broguth to light a great victory for Chaos.
Rot in the eternal torment of the Blackstone Fortress, Eldrad Ulthuran.

Actually that could be a victory for us Necrons, considering how one school of thought is that the Fortresses are Necron ships.

They're definately not Necron ships. The Blackstone Fortresses were created by the Eldar Gods I think. Definately by the Eldar anyways. They were originally called the Talismans of Vaul, and were the only things that could stop the Necrons.

Thus, the Necron destruction of one would be considered a major victory for Necrons.

Edit: Actually now that I think about it, the fortresses were the Weapons created by one of the Eldar Gods, the Blacksmith dude, and they were given to Khaine so his followers could fight off the Necrons, but one fortress was lifeless and the Necrons broke the defences.

Or maybe those weapons were swords.. Oh well..

I personally think that the next thing that's gonna happen will be some farseer from Althansar that makes Eldrad look like a kitten is gonna miander in, free Eldrad, then go smushy some chaos butt.

    What?

    Everyone enjoys smushing chaos.

the tailsmans of vaul are the only things that can truly kill a c'tan(besides another c'tan). they rip his spirit right out of the necrodermis, and send it stright to the warp so fast he doesnt know whats happening and getts eaten by the warp beasties. at least thats what ive heard happens.

Of course, that only happens if the circumstances are right and they are used properly. The secrets of the proper utilization of a Talisman of Vaul has been lost to the mists of time...

The seer of Ulthwe dead hmmm.......we will see.

I dont belive they would kill of old Elrad........i would like nothing more......but the character info on his disapearance is vague at best. I hope for a farther of scorpion character (sigh) i can but dream. I dont know if the US WD is different but the UK edition only spoke of his disapearance and did not comit to a death.

    Time will tell.
