I always thought the armour thing was dodgy anyway, since the Emperor killed Horus psychically, by obliterating his soul from the fabric of the warp. Yes, there are psychic wards which act as 'armour' against psychic attacks, but they're not generally like physical armour (aegis suit aside.)

officially the emperor was strong enough on his own to destroy Horus, but i seriously doubt that. The Emperor may have been a god but he was fighting a primarch and four gods, he had to have help. Besides, it says in the IA article about the BA that Sanguinus sacrificed himself to provide the Emperor the chance to destroy Horus.

I read a piece once, possibly the one with the broken back, that claimed that Sanguinious was more martially accomplished than Horus, who was forced to use the psychic powers grated to him to defeat him, thus wearing out his psychic defence, allowing the Emperor to obliterate his soul. This is the version I choose to believe.

That is true, Puturabo the Great, but Sangiunus had his own abilities as well. He created the chink in Horus's armor, both physical and psychic, that enabled the Emperor to destroy horus finally. I like Sanguinus, he should have stuck around, he's probably the most noble of the primarchs.

He got owned by a Bloodthrister during the Great Crusade, he's not as invincible as everyone makes him out to be.

Umm, Sanguinus so owned a bloodthirster. He was fighting for days on end, at the end of his strength and he broke a bloodthirster over his knee. He kicks everyone's butt in close combat.
