I believe the Book Angels of Darkness is copyright 2002 or something like that which means it is a more recent and up to date fluff source than Eye of Terror (The book not the Codex) Also from whatb I've read of the Horus Herasy Fluff it appears to agree more with Angels of Darkness books.

The Dark Angels were one of the few legions that did not participate in the Heresy battles, most notably the Siege of the Emperors Palace and the Istaavan V Drop Site massacre. They did fight the Fallen on Caliban and probably had some battles on other worlds but they did not directly participate in the major battles that we all know and love.

Forgive me for saying so but i think this thread needs to get back on track, got a little off topic.

If you were on the run who would you turn to... The Emperor who may well be dead or an actual God who can give you immortality and power beyond your wildest dreams? The Imperium constantly runs would be loyal soldiers into the waiting arms of Chaos.

Also last i checked Angels of Darkness was more recent and written by Gav Thorpe.

That's because the Imperium is not the empire the emperor wanted. The Imperium is corrupt and shortsighted as demonstrated by the Soul Drinkers books. It is just a version of the empire of man that the emperor was building that went wrong when it fell into the hands of the high lords of terra.
