Default Space Marine Fluff list.(Fluff static chapter/legions.)

Something I've noticed recently is some confusion in folks over which SM and CSM chapter and legions which actually have actual (GW created) fluff devoted to them, and which chapters are still open for 'interpretation' as it will. I'm chosing to seperate this from the fluff which individuals might have created on their own. I am not arguing that there is no room for 'variation' within these chapters, but that these at least have some 'guidelines' already thrown down. I'm not including the chapters that already have a colour scheme and a originator chapter known, as this is not enough info to 'lock in' the fluff of a chapter.

I've started this thread to codify if possible the chapters that actually have mainstream fluff devoted to them, and perhaps put such down in the initial post as here. I will modify(edit) this post as information is added to the thread.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Fluff 'static' chapters/legions

Dark Angels
Emperor's Children
Iron Warriors
White Scars
Space Wolves
Imperial Fists
Black Templars
Crimson Fists
Night Lords
Blood Angels
Flesh Tearers
Iron Hands
World Eaters
Ultramarines
Death Guard
Thousand Sons
Black Legion
Word Bearers
Salamanders
Raven Guard
Alpha Legion
Sons of Malice?(not sure if there is enough fluff here to qualify)
Lamenters
Emperor's Scythes(Scythes of the Emperor? Anyone know if these are two different chapters?)
Marines Malevolent
Black Dragons
Celestial Lions
Flame Falcons
Grey Knights
Legion of the Damned?
Mortifactors?(Not sure if there is enough info)
Relictors
The Red Corsairs (Fomerly the Astral Claws)
Howling Griffons(Not sure if most info to be found is actually GW endorsed.)
The Damnend Company of Lord Caustos
Blood Ravens
Mentors
Rainbow Warriors(Fluffified DIY chapter)
Deathwatch(sure to be added to when the Ordo Xenos book ever gets out.)
Mantis Warriors(limited static fluff)

Any help/additons/arguments/corrections would be appreciated.

Damned Company of Lord Caustos
I got this from "Index Astartes: Rouge Sons". I managed to lose my article, so forgive me if I'm a little shady. The Chapter was declard heretic by an =][= (on somewhat dogy evedence), and they were excommunicated. The almost whole chapter was destroyed, but some survived, and they sell their services as pirates to who ever can pay. Lord Caustas was once the chapter master, but remaned himself "Lord" for some unkown reason.

They may or may not have made a pact with Chaos (but I don't think they have).

Howling Griffons
These fellas have fought in quite a few notable wars, but I can't really say I know a tremendous bunch about them. I'm sure they is a IA article on them somehwere, but I have yet to find it. I do know they fought in the EoT, Badab War, and I think Armegeddon. Also their chapter master is currentlyl hunting down a Night Lords Deamon Prince with most of the first company with him. Both thier names elude me for the moment.

Love and peace!

Don't the Blood Ravens have quite a lot of fluff?

Thanks. That also answers the previous question, as we have video games to go on as well.

The Rainbow Warriors. They were a DIY of someone that got lucky and the chapter got "fluffyfied".

If I recall right, they were destroyed by Sisters of Battle...

Anyhow, seems a bit wrong, playing with someone elses fluff, even through it is fluffyfied...
Edit: Sure the Legion Of The Damned is "fluffstatic". Since there are only a couple Legion Of The Damned left, coming up with fluff is rather limited. They already have a history and even a future... They'll die in a violent warp meltdown... taking as many enemies of the Imperium with them as they can...

As for the Mortifactors, they seem to have not much fluff... http://www.armageddon3.com/English/C...tifactors.html
