does every spacemarine non-sorcerer have that egyptian style-armour in the 1k sons?
can some of them have their original pre-heresy colours? and others have the new armour, gold+regal blue. is it possible to be able to field both types in 1 squad?
also when abraham or whatever his name is, lol! was banished by magnus, are only his thousand sons blue+gold? while the rest of the legion stayed their colours gold+red.
Before the heresy, they didn't have the egyptian style armour.. at least, not in the same way. Here's a miniature based on what, I think, is the best piece of art for their pre heresy armour style. Note the scarabs and tablets, and the helmet design.
Anyway, fluffwise, all thousand sons should be blue and gold, I think.. they repainted their armour in Tzeentch' sacred colours when they swore allegience to him. It's be like half the Emperor's Children being purple, or half the world eaters being white and blue..
However, this hasn't stopped people using alternate colour schemes for their miniatures, and, if you discount fluff. It can look amazingly good.. Check out Andusciassus' stuff in the gallery for an example.. he uses black and bone colour, and it looks awesome.
So if you want to use an alternate scheme, do so, and claim that, in your 40k, that's how thousand sons look. But no, in the official fluff, I don't think any thousand sons still wear red.
Well this is a neat. I am doing a red and gold TS army right now. I think that the TS are a rare army in stores and painting them originally will make them that much rarer.
<(^^)> <(^^<) (>^^)> ^(^^)^ Dance Kirby! Dance!
It also allows you to field them as a loyalist army too..
Just claim they're pre heresy.. and take out the daemons and chaosey bits.
As for fluff though.. well.. my advice is just ignore it, and don't make some lame attempt to justify it. Motivated fluff never comes out right.. Instead, write about other things, and neglect to mention the colour scheme.
i know but do u think it would be fluffy if i were to field both blue and gold and* pre-heresy armour marines in a single squad? Assuming that not all of them re-painted their armour. Because I think it would b cool as hell
I working on a ts horus hersey style army and im just using the sm codex for there stats. And as of the egyption style helmets i think they all do but im not it personaly i concetrate on the painting more than the accual model but do what ever you want.
Perhaps it is just after the heresy and some of the battle brothers have converted to tzeentch while others are still harbouring doubts (from their perspective maybe they see it that they didn't turn on the emperor so much as have the emperor attack their homeworld, perhaps they are having trouble adjusting to chaos).Originally Posted by R.A.P.T.O.R
There are ways to justify the two colour schemes, it depends how liberal you want to be with the fluff. At the end of the day it's your army, you paid for it, do what you like.
...its Ahriman who was banished by the way .
