Knights are fast-moving powerful war machines, thirty to forty feet tall and controlled by a single warrior, that fight on the battlefields of the Horus Heresy in the service of both Eldar and Human armies. Recruited from feral worlds where lesser versions of these machines are used to herd mighty Megasaurs, Knights take to the field of war alongside other members of their noble families. With their devastating visor-mounted psychic and shock lances, the mere gaze of a Knight can bring death to its enemies.

:w I just found out about these WAr Machines and I was wondering if they were still valid.

Are there actually figures for them and how come I've never heard of them before?

The idea of war machines more capable than Sentinels would I think be an ideal for any Imperial Guard commander.

Guessing from the fairly early white dwarf that you took it from, I am guessing that the game's universe has evolved beyond it. But the idea sounds very cool and Im sure the knights could be resurrected and intergrated in. Is it that both eldar and humans have variants on the idea or is it the same technology?

The only difference seems to be the mindlink. The Eldar use the spirit stones and the humans have a thing called the throne

Anyway you'll find the link below..enjoy

I think that the Imperium should have made it ubiquitous rather than using Sentinels.

Or was it too much like mechwarrior?

Yeah GW borrows from a lot of stuff and probably thought they got too carried away in that instance and backed off

Not true, the knights are where actually originally recruited by Adeptus Mechanicus, hence where the feral worlds got there technology. The reason behind this is because Mechanicus colonized many world before they where brought into the Imperium after the Warp storms around Earth had subsided and these Knights where used to protect Forge worlds along with the mighty lumbering Titans.

The question was how come they haven't brought out any models of the Knights.

Methinks the same situation with the Squats?

    Nah, I doubt it.

I reckon its mainly because there hasnt really been that much interest in the Adeptus Mechanicus to justify GW spending loads on developing an army for it. Having said that, it isnt all that difficult to do an Admech themed IG army.

I'd certainly prefer the Knights rather than the Sentinel....

But think of the calamitous arms race between the players. All jumping on the bandwagon of having IG version of Dreadnoughts....lol

HHmmmmm are Knights tougher than Dreads?

As tough as, if not more. They're programmed to fight until destroyed as I recall.

You can probably do a decent Knight conversion using one of the new SOB Penitent Engine thingies. You'd probably only need a bit of plasticard..

    Probably treated as Heavy support.
Have no data on the stats. OHH well, unlikely I'd be allowed to use it anyway...lol

Would look good with my army as soon as its actually delivered...lol
