Now i have the begginings of a Space Marine army and a big horde style Eldar Ulthwee army.
The Guardian Defender squads in my ulthwee army aswell as my Wave Serpents are all armed with Bright Lances.
I am considering buying a Land Raider Crusader to go with a couple of Predators for my Space Marines. I have seen that the Land Raider has a front armour value of 14. Due to the fluff of the Bright Lance would the armour value of the Crusader make much difference in it's survivrability? Because if i ever use my Space Marines against Eldar i want to know if the Eldar will have a problem destroying a Crusader or not, because if it will take it out in the first turn i would be better off investing in something else.
You've got the wrong idea about fluff, the brightlance thing is a special rule.
Fluff is the background stuff.
Incidentally, the answer is yes, a brightlance would lower the crusaders armour to 12. This isn't a massive thing, I guess, since statistically it's about the same as them being hit by a railgun, but it still hurts. To be honest though, you're not going to play eldar very much, and most of those you play against won't have maxed out the bright lances (since unless you're playing ulthwe they're a pretty bad option, they only hit 50% of the time.) You shouldn't encounter this scenario too often.
What you really have to watch for is weapons with the melta special rule, because they can really make a mess of your 260 point monster.

Well one of the squads that i have for my ulthwee army is a squad of Fire Dragons mounted in a Wave Serpent. Basically all of my Wave Serpents have Bright Lances and 2 of my Defender Teams have Bright Lances which makes 10 Fushion Guns and 4 Bright Lances in total.
The Crusader and the Vindicator tanks are pretty much useless unless they can get to within 24" of their opponent and with fire power like that being used against them the question is would they make it? Because if a hand full of Bright Lances and a squad of Fire Dragons are going to knock em out then they are going to be a waste of points, it's a hell of a consideration to make for the cost of the Crusader, i dont think i trust letting a Crusader get to within 24" of a group of Fire Dragons.
