It is often said that Abbadon represents the greatest threat to the Imperium. I dispute this and to prove it I put him up against two undisputed masters of evil, one from the Warhammer 40,000 universe and the other included as a comparison with other Galaxies. So without further ado I present to you Horus, Darth Vader and Abaddon.
Villain Type-Immense force for evil probably the greatest warrior and tactical genius of his time
Plan-Decisive and bold, attack earth directly kill the Emperor and rule humanity
Defeated-Only by the one hero that could stand up to him: The Emperor of Mankind. Defeated only after a long drawn out physical and mental struggle
Represented- The greatest threat that humanity has ever faced
Motive- Supreme Power
Greatest Weapon- His inner strength and will to dominate. Pure psychic Power
Quote- “You don’t understand the Power of Chaos”
Remembered for- Being the greatest of the Primarchs second only to the Emperor him self
Measure of Influence- Having an entire war named after him
Evilness in Real Life- Ted Bundy x Mussolini x 10,0000
Villain Type- Immense force for evil probably the greatest Jedi and a tactical genius of his time.
Plan- Decisive and bold, oversee the construction of an immense Death Star that would bring order and tyranny to the galaxy.
Defeated- Only by the one hero that could stand up to him: His son Luke Sky walker. Defeated only after a long drawn out physical and mental struggle
Represented- The greatest threat that humanity and balance to the force has ever faced
Motive- Supreme Power
Greatest Weapon- His Light sabre a deadly and nearly unique weapon he constructed personally. His mastery of the Force.
Quote- “You don’t understand the Power of the dark side of the Force
Remembered For- Being the greatest Sith Lord second only to the Emperor himself
Measure of Influence- Having three motion pictures dedicated to him
Evilness in Real Life- Hitler x 10,0000
Villain Type- Moderate force for evil, ultimately the side kick for a greater evil genius.
Plan- Attack enemy, fail. Attack again, fail, repeat.
Defeated- 13 times in a row (14 if you count the Heresy itself) by the forces of the Imperium. In theory can be killed by a lucky lascannon shot .
Represented- The triumph of optimism over experience.
Motive-No really discernable motive. General angst at being a failure and living in the shadow of his father.
Greatest Weapon- Weapons he stole off a dead guy and a sword he found
Quote- “Lucky 14 guys, lucky 14 we will make it this time I swear”
Remembered For-Uniting the chaos Legions and amassing one of the greatest armies ever seen and failing. Miserably. 13 times.
Measure of Influence- None. His own troops would rather be called the Black Legion the most bland clichéd name for an evil army, than be directly associated with him.
Evilness in Real Life- Marginally less evil than the KKK.
And there you have it Abbadon is another run of the mill bad guys. Now everybody on Cadia can relax.
