My Daemonhunters army is going to have inducted Imperial Guard, but I'm not using all the same kind of IG models. My normal guardsmen are going to be Cadian, my Armored Fist squad is going to be Armageddon Steel Legion and my Inquisitorial Stormtroopers are going to be Kasrkin. These choices are not out of nesessity, but the fact that I really like all these models. I think this combination could pose some interesting fluff possibilities.
I was thinking about just modeling the Steel Legion guys to look like Cadians but with gas masks, but I would rather have some cool background to it. All I could come up with at the moment is that my army is in some remote corner of the empire and must call upon whatever resources that it has avaliable.
If anyone has any other ideas I would welcome them.
at the moment ime using a allied space marine blood angels wit 10 greyknights in power armor 5 grey knigt termanators and 1 lord corteaz with his henchmen
lord corteaz is a verry powerfull character but you need a 1,500 point army first but if your playing by house rulls dont worry
I like the idea. Possibly their planet was caught in a Warp Storm, and in that specific Warp Storm a bedragled and almost destroyed steel legion force crashed.
Henceforth no man shall set foot upon the world, and all around shall be set sentinals to ward away unwary spacecraft. We must accept that this place is lost to us forever, and is now the eternal habitation of abomination.

how 'bout this:
Time set: 13 months after the bloody stalemate of the damcules(sp?) crusade.
the 193rd cadian regiment, licking its wounds after the most devestating combat in the history of its regiment, was reforming its ranks aboart a giant Acclamator class imperial transport Sword of Light, the fleet it was with rushing to counter the threat of Hive fleet Leviathin. just as the fleet paused to get a reading from the astromectrion(sp?) a full fleet of chaos emerged from the warp, all ships at the same time causing a tear in the warp and creating a giant warp storm. a huge firefight ensued, the imperial fleet giving a good accounting for itself but being overwelmed by the forces of chaos. in the end 3 ships survived. the Sword of Right, the Light of the Emperor, and a Nameless ship transporting 500 men of the 94th steel legion. the ships crashed to the surface and were duly attacked by 3 company's of Thousand sons. the Light of the Emperor's space marines were too few to put up an effective resistance so the brunt of the attack was focused on the 193rd and the steel legion troops. after 3 weeks of feirce fighting the steel legion troops were wiped out and the 193rd was not fairing much better, but had emerged victorius. suffering heavy losses they couldent afford to even loose the wounded if they hoped to survive. they took the wounded and cunsulted their techpriets, fashioning them bodies part man part machine. not wanting these disturbing sights around, they garbed them in the trench coats an masks of the armageddon troops and gave them their origional role, mechanized infantry. with the few dead they could dalvage they did something even more radical. they took the geenseed of the dead space marines and split it up into eights, and made warriors in the fashion of stormtroopers, stronger, faster and smarter than them. they survived on the planet for 3 years before they were noticed again. but this time under considerable diffrent curcumstances. a unit of Grey knights had been teleported onto the planet during the night, alerted by the strange presence with the unknown battle aginst chaos. but their presence had not gone unoticed and were under attack by daemons from the warp. in the morning the remnants o the 193rd, having grown tired and mad oat their situation, mounted up for battle/ prefering to die rather than stay where they were. they charged into the toughest fighting, flinging the, selves aginst the enemy, killing daepons left and right fighting with the ferocity of the madmen that they were. their ferocity and fearlessness was not looked over by they grey knights, who were greatful that the cadians had come to their aid, knowing that they were the sole reason they survived. they inducted them and took them off the palnet, having them serve alongside them form that point on. but the regiment never really got all of its humanity back and its feriociusness in battle is under suspect, winning many a battle and saviing the grey knights many a time, and tales of their bravery is leaking out into the population of the imperium...but their always under suspicion....
well i think that turned out better than i suspected
The Guardsmen Legions, we fight for the freedom!
Baron_Fredrick_von_Helsing Posted on Dec 29 2003, 05:16That would 'Damocles Crusade'Time set: 13 months after the bloody stalemate of the damcules(sp?) crusadeCan't agree about the Nameless part as sailors tend to be a superstitious lot and I think they would tend to be the same in the 40th millenium.the Sword of Right, the Light of the Emperor, and a Nameless ship transporting 500 men of the
I think the Inquisition would agree with me on this, otherwise good work so far,
Whoso would be a man must be a non conformist
People should be taught what is, not what should be.

The Guardsmen Legions, we fight for the freedom!
Thanks for the input guys, but while I was away on vacation I came up with some bacground myself. This takes place immediately after the Eye of Terror campaign. Please let me know if I mess any of this up, because I am not really up to date on the EoT fluff.
An Imperial Guard transport was moving several platoons of guardsmen and a squad of Stormtroopers off of Cadia when a particularly nasty Warp Storm transported them to some remote corner of the galaxy. Weather by the devine will of the Emperor or the fervent prayers of the Inquisitor they were about to meet, most of the soldiers survived the trip. They crash landed on a planet which was being purged of an Ork infestation by an Inquisitor named Ferdinand Reconquisto. Inquisitor Reconquisto had been fighting for many months and his force had been reduced to a single Grey Knight squad and his trusted henchmen. When he saw the ship crash not more than five miles away, Ferdinand took his remaing force and moved to the transport, in hopes of quelling possible Ork reinforcements. What he saw in that ship gave the Inquisitor reason to shout joyous praises to the Emperor. After the nessisary purging of several of the Guardsmen who had been corrupted in the Warp, Ferdinand used this new blessing to break through the Ork defenses and purge the planet of this threat. After completing this mission, Inquisitor Reconquisto set up a stronghold with which he could train these Imperial Guardsmen. He trained them mercilessly, for any weakness in his new army could be its downfall. While they trained, the Inquisitor's henchemen worked tirelessly to repair and modify the crashed transport. When the force was ready, they left the planet and traveled to an Imperial world to resupply and requisition a new ship. Durring their short stay on this planet, Inquisitor Reconquisto's new force earned the nickname, Ferdinand's Phantoms, because whenever any of the Imperial Guardsmen were asked where they came from, they simply replied - We were spawned from the devine love of the Emperor and the unfailing will of Inquisitor Ferdianand Reconquisto.
Does anyone have anything to say about this? Does it make sense? Is it good or crap? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
i like it but it would be if the inquisitor was a commisoner dude that would exicute and the guardsmen had cool abilities like 'divine grace' were the had a beam of light shoot out of one of the men after making a psyker test but would have to die due to the strain on his mind and body.
