Hi I was wondering if there any recorded cases of ultramarines??? I ask because im doing word bearers and I was going to do the trim blue as it looks good. Thanks
Have any ultra marines ever turned to chaos?
The question you should be asking is if any Ultramarine successor chapters have turned to Chaos, the answer being yes. If any Ultramarines turned to Chaos, the chapter wouldn't exist any more.

It is indeed possible for individual Marines to turn to Chaos, to the horror of their former brethren who will do anything in their power to destroy such traitorous Marines. It is stated in the Grey Knights’ Index Astartes that they are the only Chapter to never have lost a brother to the Ruinous Powers, which indirectly states that all other Chapters must have lost Marines to Chaos, including the Ultramarines. This is furthermore supported by the fluff; in the short story ‘Daemonblood’ by Ben Counter, an Ultramarine Sergeant actually becomes a Champion of Nurgle (however, there are mitigating circumstances that shan’t be mentioned here due to risk of spoilage. ) So obviously some have fallen.
However, it’s unlikely that a large force of Ultramarines have ever defected at a single time, because an event such as that would have been known to us, but one can imagine that enough have fallen over the time, ones and twos at a time, to join together and form a Company of Traitor Ultramarines. The true Ultramarines would of course do everything possible to kill these traitors, seeing them as an offence to their Primarch and the honour of their Chapter.

Also, they won't be joining the world bearers in a hurry.
Although I suppose it's possible. The Word Bearers do like to use capture and reindoctrination as a tool, at least with humans, perhaps this could extend to one or two space marines as well.
They're going to be hated and spat upon by their brothers though. The Chaos Legions are, for the most part, proud of their ancestry.
Also the Word Bearers hate the Ultramarines with a passion so they would probably make them into spawns or mutate them and tourture(sp) them.
