    Eldar activity

Does anyone want to speculate about Eldar activity and what we might be seeing as far as new fluff?

OH lord not this again - arrggghhhh. Oh hang on Fluff?
I suspect most of it will be a rehash of existing stuff, bound to be a background about the Fall, a bit on most craftworlds and some on "The Path"
Everything you have been told is a lie!

yes i'm sorry to scare you, i've had enough speculation of new units and stuff to last me a good long time.

I'm interested to see if the eldar will be having encounters with the tau and if so how will those work out.

I'm sure they will eventually, but I doubt much will come of it. It'll probably go something like this.

Tau: 'Welcome, new friends. Come and submit to the greater good and..'
Eldar: 'How very quaint. A race of bovines with pathetically short lives want to tell us how to do things.'
Tau: 'But can't you see our way of doing things is the best. Look at our fantastic technology! Join us or we'll shoot you with our amazing high tech guns!'
    Eldar: *pulls out a starcannon*
Tau: 'Hmm.. okay, your technology is better. But my blind faith that everything I do is right tells me that we'll catch up and defeat you and make you join us. Bring it on!'

Short answer, when two spectacularly arrogant races meet, the outcome is not likely to be mutually beneficial.

As for new Eldar fluff in general, there's the whole Ynead (spelling) thing which might be progressed on in the future. Personally, I'd appreciate more details about what the eldar are planning there. Eldar fluff is generally quite cool anyway, after all.

Hopefully we will see some continuation of the quality of the other eldar fluff.

I can't wait for the new codex to come out :w00t:

There's a suggestion in the 'Xenology' fluff/concept book from GW that the Eldar are responsible for creating the Tau Ethereal caste. It's possible if this is true that the Ethereals might be engineered also to defer to the Eldar - either now, or at some strategic future point.

Tau Ethereal: 'Welcome, new friends. Come and submit to the greater good and..'
    Eldar: 'Greetings, minion.'
Tau Ethereal: '...And I for one welcome our new alien overlords.'

I don't normally say this, but...

    LOL.

That was awesome beyond belief. I am laughing so hard. Good placement of an otherwise overused catch phrase.

I am hoping that the Harlequins decide to side with the Eldar in the next codex. I do so love Harlie fluff.

One thing I'd like is to see the Harlequins return as a special elites choice, or a modified army list similar to Ulthwé or Iyanden. As a seperate army they're far too specialist to be profitable, but I can see a Biel-Tan army carrying a Solitaire to back up their Farseer.

Well I know Black Library is doing a short story anthology in line with the Dark Millenium CCG. Eldar is pulling strings to curb chaos in a cluster of stars. They have an Inquisitor around their finger and the Inquisitor have the Dark Angels around his finger. Orks are there as well, because you can never have too many orks in a galaxy.

As to the Harlequins, perhaps make them like a customizable Last Chancer group?
