Im not sure if this belongs in this forum but anyway..
What is the currency in the 40k universe?
Is there one universal Imperial currency or does it differ from planet to planet/system to system?
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
"'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door-
Only this, and nothing more."
I do believe this has been answered before so this thread could well be locked but......
It appears that the Imperial credit seems to be the main the currency within the Imperium. I am sure human worlds have thier own individual currencies but the credit is universal.
Other races have different currencies orks for example have teeth. I don't think eldar or Tau have a currency but I could be wrong.
"God is dead" Nietzsche- 1886
"Nietzsche is dead" God- 1900
Why are there scams? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q71FLDIMBc8
Credits, sovereigns, crowns, dataries - any currency is acceptable as long as it's not a current currency - so no dollars or pounds.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.

As Berny Mac said, Imperials will use the credit when dealing on advanced worlds/interplanetarily, although local systems will definitely have evolved on various worlds.
Orks use their teeth as currency, the Eldar may not have any concept of anything like individual wealth, and the Tau definitely won't have.
I do believe the dark eldar unit of currency is the assassination.Originally Posted by Xerxes
I think some systems have their own currency, with the system/planetary governors putting their own faces on the currency. I remember reading that sumwhere and yes, it is blasphemy; but the standard currency would have the emperor on it.
